Trains in the Reno Trench!

You all have a Trench? In Pittsburgh we have what we call the Pit. It's the convergence area of two Norfolk Southern lines (Pittsburgh and Conemaugh) and the regional Allegheny Valley Railroad. It is as busy as this one here, minus the stack trains. They re route the intermodals around downtown on the Monongahela line and later link up outside of downtown due to height restrictions.

Nice I love watching trains go in and out of the trench. Reno's one of those towns that doesn't get a lot of railfan publicity anyways so I'm glad to see the video

this has been so much nicer now than what it used to be before they built this, The Amtrak station used to be or still is almost regnt next to Virginia street that back then whenever a train used to stop at the station, the passenger cars used to always block that area of Virginia Street almost by the arch, and that meant that all vehicle traffic had to wait there until all of the passengers and baggage were unloaded then new passengers and new baggage were loaded onto the train, and that could take like 20 minutes or longer if I remember correctly, and that was probably the MAIN reason why this Underground trench was actually asked to be built.......

I think maybe 10 a day but some are at night.
