While visiting a friend in Schenectady for a week in early February I had the opportunity to film some trains in the area. First we start off on Amtrak's Lake Shore Limited just east of Buffalo where we raced a CSX intermodal. After that there's Amtrak, CSX, and a NS train in the towns of Schenectady, Colonie, and Amsterdam. At the end of the video is Amtrak's Empire Service arriving at Schenectady Station, and this is my ride to New York City where I then connected to the Silver Meteor to Jacksonville, Florida.
In Colonie I got an Amtrak train running on the higher-speed section of the route between Schenectady and Albany. Doing some rough math it was going approximately 96 miles per hour!
Included in the timestamps are the names of the Amtrak trains.
