I visited Jacksonville in 1992 and the system had just 3 stations back then being more a novelty than useful, with plans showing the extension across the river. The switches look quite massive.

Its a very long walk, accessible from Bloomington and Burnsville... Trains that go through there echo in the valley can be heard a couple of miles away
