As the cousin of the late David Morgan, editor of TRAINS magazine, I HIGHLY approve of this video!

The horn echoes are incredible. I live in about the flattest part of Indiana so I was enamored by the echoes when I went out to PA a couple years ago Also, great framing job at 4:32

Great footage!! Marvellous countryside and trains. What more does a man need. Well, perhaps a good woman and some homemade drinks. As A Dutchie WV is most likely where I'd emigrate to.

West Virginia is a place that people move away from, not a place that people move into.

Nice job with the video shooting of Trains in WV. Is am track still using GE's for road power? Saw one of the unit's in special paint. What was that for?
@SDRP_4406Ай бұрын
Yes, most of the GE Genesis engines are still in service. The new paint scheme is Phase VII, applied to the new Siemens Chargers, a growing number of P42s, as well as some non-revenue engines.
@johnc7573Ай бұрын
What branch line is that at the 6:15 mark?
@SDRP_4406Ай бұрын
The Loupe Creek Branch to Beckley, I believe. RJ Corman has an operation on it as well.
@Greatdome99Ай бұрын
@@johnc7573 Loop Creek branch up to Pax coal mine, not up to Beckley/Raleigh. RJ Corman provided pushers.
@johnc7573Ай бұрын
@@Greatdome99 Roger that. Few years ago I managed to snag a ride from Rainelle down to Meadow Creek. Super remote and super sketchy following Meadow Creek down. Steep and slow ! Retainers and all

Yes. At Thurmond and Hawks Nest, WV.

6:41: I'm guessing you're using a filter. You can see the headlight reflections (three white dots). Lenses alone won't do that.

and they say coal is dead in WV, nah, it's just way more automated. Work to death and let them go. Now you need some computer skills to drive a locomotive or work in a rail yard. Could you imagine how complicated that must have been with radio dispatchers? As far as rails go there is still a lot of manpower working. Not as much as should be. Vance claimed to be championing the railway safety act. Once elected it went into the abyss and failed to make it to vote. Remember that East Palestine Ohio the next time you decide to vote for corporate control of your country. the railway safety act is now dead. Vance lied to you and Trump did also.
