Trains on the Cape main line - Bellville to Worcester

This is a short compilation of freight and passenger trains that I took videos from around 2005 to 2013 on the Cape main line between Bellville and Worcester.

Great compilation when the 6E's ruled the roost on the mainline! Those blowers kicking in or out are such a delight and so special/unique to hear. 👌🏻👊🏼

Amazing footage, it's easy to forget the 6E was the king of South African railways once upon a time. The footage of the Blue train with 14Es is extra special

Wow Fanie, great compilation! this is full of surprises! Some historical footage newer to be repeated again. like the heating steam generator on the Shosholoza. Class 34's. 14E's on the Blue Train, and even a shunter wagon far from Bellville - nowadays these only work the line to Kalbaskraal. Those metro coaches with the diesels probably came from the refurbishment shop at Touwsrivier I guess?

Thanks Piet, glad you like the compilation! Yes the metro coaches came from Touwsrivier if I remember correctly. I just wished I had used the video camera more often back then!

I wish Spoornet would go back to the blood and custard colours.The colours on Thier passenger trains today,are very drab,and don't appeal to any passenger at all.
