Love your videos Roy, loads of memories of me and my late grandfather watching the shunting action at Bescot yard in the Midlands.

Brilliant stuff Roy, lots to enjoy here. You timed it well getting the coal wagons being tripped into the works. Nice to see the Class 58s too, a type missing off our lines for too long now - but maybe we'll see one again before too long........

Don Coffey has a driver's view film of a trip from Peterborough to Birmingham of a Class 66. And yes, that ex-MR signal is still in use in 2021.

Is it not a “Midland & Great Northern Joint” Lower Quadrant signal? Have watched Don Coffey’s video too, as have traveled over the Peterborough-Stamford section many times.

@adriancarter2863 as far as I'm aware the M&GN used a mixture of MR and GNR signals. There may be some detail differences but I'm no expert on these railways. The spectacle plate is definitely Midland in origin.

This is really good footage, I like this because I am building a cement works for my railway and I am basing it in Ketton Cement; because I have the Hornby Ketton Cement PCAs. If you have more please share.

My Auntie & Uncle live in Aldgate, Ketton, and I have spent many hours watching trains go by from that blue footbridge on family trips down from Edinburgh. Interesting then that the Class 156 DMU was an ex-Haymarket unit, still fitted with its “West Highland” snowplough, as fitted by ScotRail. Regional Railways (England) got wise to this, and started sending their 156 units up to Haymarket MPD for their Main Exam , just so that they came back fitted with snowploughs too. Out of interest, the dust being kicked up by the heavy Ballast Trains; is that due to excessive Sanding on the Bank?

Adrian, My Partner lived in Aldgate with her Grandparents (Garfield) when she was a child then she lived in Ketton until 1995,(maiden name was Day). That footbridge was known as "Sooty Bridge" by the locals, glad you enjoyed the Video.
