Trains & Tones at Milton Keynes Central Station WCML 25/01/2022

It's been a while since I last filmed on the West Coast Mainline, and first time also visiting Milton Keynes Station. Milton Keynes Central Station is a major railway station outside London with services direct to the capital to London Euston Station and for services from the North of England, Scotland and the West Midlands. It was a bit cold and damp afternoon here with no sunshine. The Station is served by Avanti West Coast & London North Western Railway. This video includes the following rolling stock:
Class 43 NMT, Class 66 Class 88, Class 90, Class 221 Super Voyager, Class 325, Class 350's, Class 390 & Much More. I arrived at about 14:50 & stay for a good 3 hours as for myself I like to tick off those rolling stock numbers.

Great video at Pendolino Paradise (Milton Keynes) 👀😎👍🏽🎉 BR had an odd train in the summer of 1987 & 1988. (Saturday’s Only) an early morning Milton Keynes to Penzance direct service 🤔 Booked an AC electric loco (86 or 87) to Coventry where a Class 50 or sometimes a 47 would pick it up at Coventry and work the train throughout to Penzance via Birmingham New Street, Cheltenham, Bristol, Exeter etc 🤩👍🏽👀

@@BensPlanesTrainsProductions yes indeed they are great trains, although the tilting at speed I find a ‘bit weird’ when on-board😀👍🏽 The tilting technology used is mainly technology from the APT. The Italians bought the rights to the APT tilting technology and finished developing it, which was unfortunately something our Government of the day (Thatcher) would not allow to happen here and the APT project was disbanded 🤨🇬🇧 The APT failure was more political than technical...shame really 🤔🇬🇧👍🏽

I don't notice the tilt. I just prefer a comfortable train and ride. Both the 221 Voyager with Avanti and the 390 are good rolling stock and have done a good job with refurbishing the Voyagers also.

@@BensPlanesTrainsProductions yes they both suit the modern day 21st century UK travel, they serve a purpose and are more beneficial to their private operators than older more conventional rolling stock 🤔 That is the fundamental difference between BR and railways today, its not about the passenger, their comfort and environment, its about operating costs and profit for the shareholders, the IET is 100% proof of that, a train interior designed in utter contempt of the people using it 🤢 The railways now are sadly not a ‘service’ but a business 🤒 I find the Voyagers a bit claustrophobic with their sloping sides and cramped seating (in standard class) and way too small (not enough coaches, unless operated in multiple) to operate principal long distance.XC and AWC services during normal times 🤨 the MKI, MKII, MKIII, MKIV were great environments to travel long distance, spacious, comfortable and plenty of space for luggage, the Voyager is none of those 🤢 I try and avoid them and IET’s at all costs when travelling to/from Devon...I either use the Castle HST direct to/from South Wales or an XC HST from Bristol - much better 😎🤩👍🏽

Yeah agree with Cross Country Voyagers, they do need a good work on them. I have been on Avanti 221's and they are a nice interior to be fair. The seats are comfortable, The lighting is far better as well. So in fairness I say Avanti have done a good job with making them better.
