Trainspotting (BG) - First snow... and massive delays! / Първи сняг... и огромни закъснения!

The presence of a lot of snow keeps people attention on the landscapes and creates beautiful views for the eyes, but it also often causes a lot of complications in the transport systems, as happened this weekend in Bulgaria.
The warm autumn resulted in a fairly late leaf fall. Many trees still had their leaves on them, and the wet and sticky snow that fell on this Saturday resulted in many broken branches and even downed entire trees. At many places, this led to temporary closure of the railway lines, due to fallen trees on the lines and interruption of power supply. Numerous trains were canceled and almost all that did run on Sunday were massively delayed.
I like the snow, so I decided to go for a short winter trainspotting in the Iskar gorge near Sofia, at Tompson halt - a well known place if you are following my videos long enough. I was lucky to catch the moment when the line was cleared and opened. As you will notice in the video, the trains were massively delayed. The biggest delay which I spotted was on the night train from Varna to Sofia which was almost 10 hours late! The train should be passed here early in the morning, but instead of that it pass through Tompson in the late afternoon.
The snowfall has stopped everywhere and the strong wind calms now, so I expect the train movement to be normalized tomorrow.

Снегът прави пейзажите още по-красиви, но често причинява и множество усложнени транспортни обстановки, както се случи този уикенд у нас.
Топлата есен и късния листопад в комбинация с рязкото застудяване и обилен снеговалеж от мокър сняг резултира в множество счупени клони и повалени дървета по жп линиите, което доведе до спиране на влаковото движение на много места. Множество влакове бяха отменени, а тези, които все пак се движеха, бяха с огромни закъснения.
Въпреки усложнената обстановка, понеже обичам снега и снежните кадри, реших да се разходя за кратък трейнспотинг до сп. Томпсън в Искърското дефиле - добре познато място ако следите често канала. Имах късмета да съм на мястото малко преди движението да бъде пуснато. Както ще видите, всички влакове, които улових, се движеха с огромни закъснения, като рекордьорът бе 2626 (нощния влак Варна - София), който се движеше с почти 10 часа закъснение! Влакът обичайно трябваше да е преминал оттук в ранни зори, вместо това мина в късния следобед.
Снеговалежа вече спря навсякъде, вятърът също утихна, така че очаквам утре да се нормализира вече движението навсякъде.

Beautiful winter images! 6 hours is, of course, quite a delay. But 2 hours- that's also quite common in Germany, even without snow. Have a good day!

Ha, in Luxembourg and close-by Germany trains are late without snow 😁. Without rain either 🤔. If snow is the reason for any delays, Bulgaria is good. Beautiful video 😍

Currently the snow was the main reason. But even without a snow we also have delays sometimes. Not so massive, but there are. :)

Of course not :) I've checked the real-time timetable and notice the delays, so I went to catch some unusual trains - mostly the night train 2626 during the day :))

Какво е това закъснение от близо 10 часа (580 мин)? Тоя влак изобщо тръгнал ли е от София когато трябва...

Тръгнал е от Варна когато трябва, но не е стигнал София когато трябва :)
