Renton, deeply immersed in the Edinburgh drug scene, tries to clean up and get out, despite the allure of the drugs and influence of friends.

This scene adds so much sense to Mark's decision to run away with the money at the end. It's still possible to get why he did it without the scene but adding it would really drive the message home. "I'm fed up to my back teeth with losers and no-hopers, draft-packs, schemies, junkies and the likes... I'm getting on with life. What are you doing?"

They Deleted these Scenes because they knew that the audience would go full on orgy throughout the whole film due to how great it is.......So they toned it down a notch.

Smart move leaving this scene on the cutting-room floor. Wish more directors in modern cinema would be willing to prune. The fantastic songwriter Warren Zevon said that his best advice to young songwriters was "be ruthless in your editing." In recent years, it feels like movie directors are scared to edit at all.

I'm from the area this and the woods scene in Shallow Grave were filmed. Can anyone who went to St Ninians, Woodfarm, or any of the schools around there tell me if this is the meadow between the waterfall and the Deaconsbank golf course? A huge grassy area with big rocks just off the path.
