I'm just starting out with trainz, so it's helpful to see a super-detailed route like yours, and I also really appreciate seeing some of the assets you use. I love the green parking strips, but I never would have found them on the DLS without your video, b/c I wouldn't have known to search for 'epcot.'

Hello Approach Medium Your videos are excellent. As someone already mentioned, there is a lot of fast forward (thank you for that), but it can be overwhelming and confusing to a beginner just learning route design. You have an amazing eye for detail. I also appreciate how difficult it is and how long it takes to wade through the thousands of items in the inventory and download station in order to find just the right item for the route. I must say the route looks amazing. Is it planned to be a working route? Will you have AI trains, switching exercises and local runs making deliveries? I have been working on a route for a few years, although I admit there have been long stretches with no progress. That route creates a ½ scale route between Toledo OH and Detroit MI set in the mid 50’s to early 60’s. I must admit that making scenery for that amount of space is a little overwhelming. So I have been working on a shorter fictional route that will allow me to sharpen my skills and figure this TRAINZ thing out better. This route is set from 1870-1910 and is almost finished. Your route and videos are inspiring for me. Keep up the good work and looking forward to more (and hopefully some operational videos as well). RAM55

Thank you so much for the feedback. I'm glad my work is inspiring! The route is actually quite large and yes, it's fully functional. It's actually entirely self-contained. So every industry has an origin and terminal somewhere on the route. AI trains could pretty much run the whole thing endlessly if you wanted to. I'll be getting into more details about the overall route in the next few videos. I've been working on this route for about 6 years now and I feel like I've gotten nowhere with it. But the fun is in building it not just the final finished route. Your routes sounds pretty cool. Haven't' seen much turn of the century models out there. With regards to the quick camera movements, that's something I'm working on improving. I speed up the timelapse to around 600% so something that doesn't feel like a jumpy camera move to me ends up ridiculous in the timelapse. But yes, I will be working to keep the camera more steady. What ATLS stoppers are you using? There is a ATLS NRC stopper which doesn't change the height of the road, it's very handy.

Two Questions: 1. What version of Trainz are you using? I have Trainz 12 but yours seems to look really crisp. Perhaps you have a better graphics card in your computer. 2. I've been working on a few routes for a few years. Eventually I'd like to upload them for public use. Is there a forum for that? Is it safe? My experience with online Trainz has always led to corrupting my computer. Any help greatly appreciated.

I'm using Trainz A New Era and my graphics card is a GTX 960. I have most of the graphics maxed out. The Trainz Download Station is your best bet. I'd head over to the Trainz forums for more information. I don't have much experience when it comes to uploading to the DLS but many many people do it every day so I'd say it's rather safe.

That's kind of what I'm doing. You can find all of the associated paperwork on the Trainz Forum. There's a link in the description of one of my videos. He never release a track plan perse, but there is a track schematic in the paperwork.
