Every route-creation story in Trainz is a story full of compromises, i.e. people and stuff... Keep up the good work! :)
@pleasant_asymmetry8 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean... It's annoying to want to build routes that need the type of buildings that aren't in Trainz.
@ApproachMedium8 жыл бұрын
Totally. We can only work with what we've got. Unless you're an asset creator in which case you can build whatever you want to fit whatever space you have ;-) Hoping to get to that stage myself at some point in the future.

Trainz Model Railroad looks fun. Nice video! BTW some of the tracks have a pinkish ballast out that way. IDK if this asset is in TMR, but in the 'paint' area search "JR" (Jointed Rail) and there should be ballast that is colored gray, dark gray, pink, and a few others. Hope it helps!

Sweet, know what I'm doing in the morning. BTW, got TransDEM awesome app. 'morning, just finished watching, outstanding job!!! Now I'm gonna give it a go. I do have one request, it'd be cool if you could do a pull back, top down shot of the entire layout, with the staging area. It moved so fast, it was hard to pause the video to see how you connected. I guess I could just fly by the seat of my pants and come up with something... LOL
@ApproachMedium8 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed! I might be able to send you a top-down screen shot this evening. Awesome that you gout TransDEM. I used it a few years back and found it very useful. Good luck with it!
@billdeloach58688 жыл бұрын
cool, thanks. BTW, I'm working on some backdrops from the Needles and Barstow area. Got some images just need to work them up in 3DS. Will ping you when I have something decent. And you did say Barstow correctly!
@mrelvispresley69778 жыл бұрын
Geat video as always AP! To be honest the backdrop I find it's not very good, because the theme of the layout it's the desert, not a full of mountains! Maybe you could extend the exteriors parts of the layouts with a little bit of sand and then put the backdrop with a sky. I don't know to be honest haha. But great video, waiting for next one, see you mate. PD: trying to find some people on the DLS, but anything convince me, a lot of stuff from older versions which doesn't look too good.
@ApproachMedium8 жыл бұрын
Thanks buddy :-) Yeah I'm not very happy with the backdrop either. I'm going to have to dig around for something else. I just couldn't find much on the DLS. Might have to stick with the solid sky blue one. Same with the people! Not a whole lot of good ones on there.

Thank you! I would love to get more videos out but it's not just my lack of time. It's where I live. My recording space is basically in the middle of everything in my apartment. I live in a 500 square foot box with my wife right across the street from a hospital and subway so it's constantly noisy. Factor that with the simple fact that if my wife is home doing anything at all it'll be picked up by my mic. So it kind of sucks right now. I'll hopefully be moving into a bigger space in a few months which will allow me a little more freedom to film. So stay tuned because I'll be making videos as long as I'm able to ;-)

hi i own all the trainz versions all the way up to the newest one, my question is, do you think trainz 17 is worth the upgrade from tane, i havent played any of them in a couple years. i have always been more into model railroading than what train simulator 2017 had to offer. i own a ton of locos from jointed rails as well. i seem to bounce from flight sim back to train sim every couple years or so.
@ApproachMedium8 жыл бұрын
+Brett Culley (Patriot304) If you don't own T:ane it's a good stand alone game but I'm not sure I'd consider it an upgrade. I think once SP2 is released for T:ane you'll be able to download all the routes and assets included in TMR so maybe just wait for that.

I enjoy your segments but I have not purchased the game as yet. I plan to run the game on a Win 10 Pro and someone sent me a note saying the 2010 game is not compatible with Win-10 Pro, is this true? Have used the new Trainz New Era it seems very expensive Amazon has it for $239.00. Any info or advise you can offer would be apprieciated! Where do I look for your response, I am watching on one of those boxes that pop up on the right side of the screen.
@ApproachMedium6 жыл бұрын
DO NOT SPEND $239 ON THIS GAME! Idk where that price is from but it's not that much money. Use this link, store.trainzportal.com/?aff=36 You can get Trainz A New Era for $29.99 or the newest iteration, Trainz 19 for $69.99. Trainz 2010 and 2012 are waaaay out of date so don't bother with them.

I have a couple questions(new player here) In free drive, can you spawn a single locomotive rather than an entire train? Also, I found that there are a lot of trains in my rail yard, but I can't spawn them in quick drive. Could you tell me how to spawn as them? Thanks
@pleasant_asymmetry8 жыл бұрын
Create a new session, then you can use all the trains that you can use in Railyard.
@Skiesaremine8 жыл бұрын
I tapped create session button, but it brought me to a thing like a world editor, what should I do next? I found that I have a lot of locomotives are in my rail yard but the game don't let me add them to maps, could you tell me why?
@pleasant_asymmetry8 жыл бұрын
You can now place cars and locomotives on the tracks.
@Skiesaremine8 жыл бұрын
I know I can put some trains on track, but I found that I have some locomotives I have in my rail yard which I can't put them on track. How do I put those single locomotives on track? That is my question
@Skiesaremine8 жыл бұрын
I know I can put some locomotives on the track, but it always ask me to put the entire train(12 cars or above). I wonder if I can put just the cars or just the locomotives.
@pleasant_asymmetry8 жыл бұрын
Sorry to comment so soon again, I thought maybe you should flip-flop the way the fuel cranes are facing. For a engine to use the first one coming into the engine facility, it has to be fouling a switch. The second fuel crane won't work with longer engines since it's near the end of a stub track.
