I wish I had seen this video before I started clinicals. I was that student that needed to share the "why" behind my thought process because I wanted to help you understand me. My expectation was that I would be redirected and given constuctive criticism of how I needed to approach a problem or think about it in a different way. I was so excited! My excitement quickly left because I was called a "burden" for learning and understanding things in a different way. Unfortunately I withdrew from the school without ever reaching my dream. You will help so many with this advice. Thank you for taking your precious time to make this video!

Oh I’m so sorry to hear this. There are plenty of people out there who aren’t meant to teach. Sorry you had this experience.

And the problem is that they want to go in there looking good without any mistakes, But forget they are their to learn. Exposing deficiencies is good, it’s a perfect opportunity to correct. Because once you graduate as an Np they expect you to have it all in one sock, and you won’t. I’ve been a practicing NP for last 10 plus years and I can say I wish I had more time and improved clinical sites.

Hey, welcome! Check out local groups like UAPRN of Ga. Membership is cheap, meetings are great for networking and they have an internal job board.

It's kinda shocking that you have to even discuss that because nurses know darn tootin well that when they were in clinicals their professors DID NOT PLAY!!!! You couldn't even pee without asking your professor she reminded you every second "you are under my license"
