My pleasure. Once you get comfortable with the 2x2x2 method, then solves without parity become a lot easier the usual reductive solve.

Thank you so mush for this useful tutorial ! I was stuck with my own octehedron and now I'm able to solve it. It just took me a moment to understand how get the last 2x2 upper blocks right.

To get the last 2 faces(?) correct, you can just keep them where they were and do a Corner Swap algorithm with just the 2 equator layers. It would save a few moves on a puzzle that doesn't like to turn.

Well I had been doing this with my 4x4 for a while before you published it but had done the full AI top half so not particularly fun! Your centre swaps work beautifully thanks. Now I've just succeeded with my 4x4 rhombic dodecahedron which was harder work than the usual way. It's a difficult final 2 blocks!

I use CBC's method with a little trick I figured out to fix parity intuitively rather than with an algorithm. Basically when you get to the last edge, if there's parity, switch one part of the edge with a duplicate piece and resume the solve like normal. It's not exactly "parity-free" because you still run into the parity, but it throws out the cumbersome algorithm in lieu of a shorter algorithm you'd already know from earlier in the solve.

I enjoyed a lot the process. You make it so easy. Thanks :)

Hello. I took rhombic dodecahedron that I have and analized it. I figured out that it is the sticker mode of this puzzle and thay changed small tiny corners with bigger ones that have three colours and corners with corners that have two colours,so it becomes super 4x4 octahedron. I use method from this video to solve 6 faces and for last two I use method you showed for Ai megamorphix v.2. Than I solved it as 2x2x2. It was parity free solve. I don't know if I explained well, but I am very happy learning from you how to implement moves from one puzzle to other puzzles. Thanks.

I wanted to say that thay change single colour center pieces with two coloured center pieces. Thanks.

Very good observation! It's neat to solve one puzzle in a variety of different ways.

No, she was doing what she usually does, getting on facebook and messaging "He's doing that puzzle thing again!" to all her friends.

Was the person sitting at the table with you playing Flow? Because that's what it sounded like and I am fairly addicted to it.

Will you eventually make a tutorial on a super megaminx ( megamix supercube) because i bought megaminx sticker from oliver's shop ( the spiral ones) and its very dificult, specialy when there are so many equivalencies and centers to orient!

I would be very interested to see how you apply this to a 6x6 or 8x8 - will it also avoid parities? Is it worth the effort?

Very nice!

Well, the closest thing I have is the Hexaminx solve, right here: watch?v=6lBbCHrWtUE As a shape mod of a megaminx, it really behaves like a super megaminx just as a shape mod of a 3x3x3 acts as a supercube. See if it helps!
