so you didnt notice how each line of his was segmented, with each kick there was a timed vocal shout as with in the structure of bars prior to the kicks. just becuase you dont like his vocal style does not mean he sucks but that you do not like him. is all. both shiftee and greg nice are well respected with in the sub culture. what have you done!

Personally.. I've been waiting for this controller since it first got leaked NI was in the works with something like this. For the people who have complaints about the art's direction, quit your bitching. Obviously you just don't understand what's happening around you and you're scared of the future. DJ Shiftee is INSANE, he does amazing and dude even scratched with his ELBOW in the begining. Abelton is good for production, Traktor is good for DJing. This isn't complicated. Big ups NI!!

I'm genuinely glad that Native Instruments keeps innovating Traktor. If however, these units are $279 each, this will be only slightly better than the Akai APC 40 until they make a new version (this time, with full-color LEDs) or Novation makes a Launchpad (with full-color LED pads) and combines it with up-faders and knobs (like the APC40). At least it's cheaper than the Steinberg CMC series controllers. $558 is a lot to pay for for two decks of sample control.

Dude I am SOOO getting this. Seeing the pads at work in this video was pretty amazing! One interesting this I noticed though, is that he didn't touch the knobs at all. I want too see a pt 2 video with him using the knobs as the FX in Traktor. Definitely a cool ass piece of gear!!

@mckennaben505 Yes, Shiftee is playing audio files from a laptop. The vinyl he is using are called Control Vinyl which sends a specific signal through the needle to the Traktor interface which is then detected by the Traktor software allowing him to manipulate the tracks. I think.

the maschine is a groove box mainly aimed for one shots and cue points but the kontrol f1 is a midi controller used for controlling the brand new remix decks in the up and coming traktor 2.5.

i do mapping myself, its kinda easy once you watch a couple hours of how to videos about it, thats how i use all my sample decks right now, Just all placed on my maschine, and another layer has all cue points, very easy, and pretty much exactly what they have done with the F1

I believe it's a matter of preference. I have Pioneer cdjs and vinyl turntables and for portability and all that fancy effects and stuff, you can go with a controller; if you like the feel of turntables and vinyl, go with turntables. At home I like to use my controller, when I do parties, I like hauling around those heavy Technics just cause i like the feel of vinyl to go with Traktor scratch. If you're starting out and on a budget, I would say save up for a nice controller.
