Tram Variety in Milan, Italy - 3rd September 2019

1:04 - 1:06 some of that series of tram, the Milan city council gave to the city of San Francisco. If you go in San Francisco (California) you can see that tram

Most cities with tram lines have the same rolling stock. Maybe an older model that is being phased out with the newer one being phased in. Maybe some shorter units on lesser traveled routes and longer ones for the busier routes. But I've never seen this variety of trams in one city! Maybe not even in a museum.

The Italians don't do cycling ... they do fast cars and motor scooters (also fast) .... Andy

There are quite a few bike lanes, actually. But I agree that they could improve and expand the network.

Thank you - good to be reminded of the variety of tram stock in Milan. But Lisbon is better still !

They missed a couple of trams, namely the Eurotram and the Sirio. I don’t think Lisbon offers a greater variety...

The older trams look rather typical. T he newer ones--all I can say is somebody must have been on LSD or similar when those things were designed. The trams in Germany, Austria, Poland, even UK look better. Those things are totally laughable and somewhat sickening to look at.

If you refer to those seen for example at 3:10 - they were actually built in the late seventies, so not quite new...
