Manchester Metrolink Eccles.T68 &T68a cars February 2013

AnsaldoBreda built T68 and T68a cars return to duties on the Salford Quays and Eccles line. Filmed on Langworthy Road and Eccles New Road these soon to be withdrawn, overweight cars really pound over rail joints and crossings. As usual the Manchester weather lived up to it's reputation.

I love the space ship noises they make. The new ones are bland by comparison. Miss these old ones.

I like the old trams with the new livery and advertising. Looks very metropolitan. It's a shame metrolink just seem to want it to look like a shopper hopper service.

All the T68s are now gone - only 2 T68A's remain in service -- 2001 & 2003

Back in the days when they drove the trams. Got the people where they wanted to be. Unlike nowadays I think metrolink rely on the wind blowing the trams the way the piddle about at. Cyclists clock up more speed!
