Nice idea using the feeler gauges. I usually have a slotted shim assortment handy but they are certainly not as cheap as a set of HF feelers.

Good tip and shimming the glass. I was wondering how to tram the spindle when the spoil board isn't true.

Great Stuff mate. If I may ask. are you using the CNCRP Spindle? Or you are using another brand? I am asking this as I am looking for a Spindle that I want to be a direct fit on the CNCRP Pro 48x48. I went through plenty of Chinese air cooled Chinese spindles and I just can't determine the right dimensions, Should I go with 80mm round spindle or Square Spindles. Your advice is much appreciated.

asaad abdullah yes I am using the Cncrp spindle. My previous spindle was a water cooled 80mm body and while it was much quieter it just seemed like it had less power even though both are 2.2kw. I don't know if that was the difference between the delta vfd on the Cncrp or the huanyang vfd on the 80mm. This spindle has the fan on direct drive from the shaft vs an electric fan on some other brands. So my only complaint is the noise compared to my old setup. But my dust collector is louder than all of it so it wouldn't matter if it was silent lol. I think the advantage you gain with square body is rigidity because you can mount the spindle directly to the backing plate /tram mount versus having another mount in between.

Thanks of the reply man. Well, I quickly scanned some square spindles but I just can't seem to get the right dimensions. For instanse, There are a lot of square spindles that can be amounted directly as you just said to the base plate mount\tram but I just can't understand the dimensions just right. for instance, the holes on the Chinese square Spindles are M8 holes, and the distance between each hole is vertically 35mm and 95mm horizontally. Not sure if these spindles can be a direct fir on the CNCRP plate mount\tram. I know that If I have an 80mm round spindle I need to get the 80mm spindle mount. But I don't know about the square spindles. to better understand my issue, I am not planning to get the CNCRP plug and play VFD due to custom clearance issues. I am outside the US and I already going to pay a lot on the CNC kit itself lol. asaad abdullah yeah that spindle wouldn't bolt right up to the standard square body mount. I'd make things easier for yourself and get the 80mm mount.

Appreciated Man. Yeah, I think that's the way to go for me. Hopefully I will order the kit within the next couple of weeks from CNCRP. Any advice, tweeks that you recommend?
