Lived in The Hague from April 2022 until May 23 and my son really enjoyed watching the tram rides we used to make (we used to live next to the peace palace/archipel). Good memories

The Hague tram system is really impressive and inspiring! I’d rather spend some time there as you did! Greetings from Riga

Супер! Интересное видео. Фанатам трамвая надо побывать в Гааге. А старые трамваи будет жалко, когда их заменят, ведь они такие милые.

17:56 The 'tramtunnel' isn't a premetro tunnel. There were plans very early on (before it was build) to have metro trains run from central to the beach, but the project was basically a logistical nightmare (the soil below the hague is very watery and soft so tunneling through it is super expensive and difficult to do). Plans get mentioned every now and then but money wise it's just a major challenge. One fun fact tho is that below The Hague Central there are actually metro tunnels! So the plans for a metro in The Hague were there and they did prepare the infrastructure below stations for it, but the plans never got further than just being plans. So as far as is known the 'tramtunnel' isn't premetro. It would also be a logistical challenge to get lines 2, 3, 4, 6 and 34 across the streets. Cause you'd either have to build a massive tram bridge across Spui (one of the busiest area's in the city), run trams through one of the busiest streets in the city or reroute 5 tramlines over a section of track that's already heavily congested by lines 1, 9, 15, 16 and 17. So either you'd have to split those lines in a The Hague and Zoetermeer/Leidschendam branch, or spend a boatload of money in getting them over the top of Spui. So even if it could be done the engineering challenges that await the planners will be taking billions of Euro's and a boatload of time to deal with. So it's just much easier to keep everything trams (who can deal with most of the load due to their high frequency) than convert it all and create even more complicated and expensive infrastructure for just a small capacity increase!

Ah, trams.. the more modern, the uglier they get. Why can't manufacturers make trams that are both efficient and convenient and pleasant to the eyes, like old trams were?

Oh.. I'd say it's not just about the trams, it's about everything else around - architecture, street design, etc. But still, this is a good point.
