There are different classes in the trams?
@Aviationvlad
@Aviationvlad 27 минут бұрын
Yeah, there is Silver class (standard) and Gold class. The ticket for the gold class is twice the price of the silver class, but I haven’t seen very much difference in the interior (in metro trains there are a bit different seats). The only benefit is that it’s probably never crowded (which is not the case for the regular Silver class).

this is a really great video. 5:58 sadly Gogoļa iela has been renamed because it was a "russian", even though gogol (I don't know how to spell the name.😔) was ukranian ..😢

When I was in elementary school I would take the old trolleybus number 22 to go to school, since it was just one stop. They had these big steps you needed to climb to get into the thing and old doors that weren't shielding from the cold at all. And they usually had an awful stench. One day around 2002-2003 sometime in late autumn/winter I needed to get off, and I stood on the second step ready for the driver to open them up, but since I was a kid he didn't see me and just went on his way without opening. Thankfully he opened the doors at the next stop, but I remember being so upset and would always stay on the very top stair so that the driver would see me. Nowadays all the public transport have buttons that can inform the driver when someone needs to get off and there are no steps at all. On those fancy trolleys the driver doesn't even make the input - you need to push the button yourself to get it open.

Oh yeah 🙁.. I've had the same challenge those years.. Things are quite easier these days with pushing the button. I remember also that in old Ikarus 260/280 buses, the button that requests stop was on the panel ABOVE the door itself. Which is completely out of reach for kids in first grades that travel on their own (like I was) 😄

This is how mass transit shoud run..like a train avoiding traffic on its own line. If more countries adapted this type of system wouldnt have as much congestion. People get to destinations faster then getting stuck in traffic with the rest of commuting people.
