Thanks A LOT HTMM. After searching for tutorials on how to make one of my favorite genre - progressive trance I found your channel. I was even deciding between Ableton and FL, the tutorials you made with FL is very straightforward and I actually learned how to make a simple 20 second beat because of you :) As for this tutorial, I kinda already know the structure of a progressive trance music, but you explained it in detail, even though the song was not to my taste, still a good tutorial

Everyone's ears are different. That's the beauty of making and listening to music. You don't have to watch a video to learn the structure of a genre... You can listen to the genre and infer consistent similarities and the reasons for said similarities.

@nel_dubbio_mena11 жыл бұрын
@ tredfxman you can do anything with any DAW, in a different way, but it is always possible. It is not the software that makes the skill, but who uses it. FL Studio is easy, but it is chaotic for automations, Ableton is neat, but it is not easy to do the same things you do with fl studio in 3 secs. There are those who are happy with Ableton and other with Fl studio.

Basically, something new is added every 16 bars correct?
@TheBATTranceMusic5 жыл бұрын
I am struggling so much for my intro because I want a pluck sound and pad synth without a kick or baseline for the first 16 bars. Also have a piano but things are not getting any better for days! Still have trouble to structure properly. I don't want the emotional feeling of the intro to be broken by hitting a kick to early. Is 32 bars too long? Someone help!
@Grodgen11 жыл бұрын
That is FL Studio, which is what most of HTMEM's are based on. Look around some more, Albeton is used just as much as FL Studio.

@TranceProductionsFL Not bad!
@NicoleEivissa7 жыл бұрын
Wow thank you! Finally has somebody explained to me, how is the trance structure, and very detailed! So basically, you have like: an intro, breakdown, pre-climax ("hook"), climax, continuing climax, euphoria going away slowly (climax is gone), then outro and final. Is that used in all the uplifting trance songs like this (or similar)? It's seems to me always like a story, written story, all the emotions in a different (audio) way but still very very similar! Which is great to know, it helps me a lot to understand how to create a track! Thanks!!

Do you think you could do something like this with a current dubstep song?? This kind of stuff helps so much with song structure..
@DogeFrom20145 жыл бұрын
Nah dubstep operates on a totally different song structure, though there are some very rare tracks-mostly chillstep-that use an uplifting/prog trance structure which I am a big fan of (e.g. Blackmill - Home)

how to roll off low frequencies via EQ ?
@DoubleDJGeek10 жыл бұрын
Basically link whatever sounds you want to have rolled off to the mixer, use an EQ tool such as "Parametric EQ 2" for example, Right click on the number 1 circle (There are numbers 1 - 7), go to "Type" on the drop down menu and click on "High Pass". This literally means that you are letting the high frequencies pass and the low frequencies will roll off
@josemarcassoma25510 жыл бұрын
DoubleDJDave ok thanks and why he cut low frequencies , what means low end and how kick drum are beating in full power in 32 bars.
@DoubleDJGeek10 жыл бұрын
Josemar cassoma Are you asking why he cut the low frequencies off?
@josemarcassoma25510 жыл бұрын
yes
@DoubleDJGeek10 жыл бұрын
It's all about the build up and anticipation of the song kinda like saving the best for last, if you want the song to get better and better as you listen to it you'll want to take out the low frequencies early so that the song sounds more full/fat later
@tredfxman11 жыл бұрын
This is NOT Ableton Live! - But FL Studio. KZbin it and ull see the diffrence. Live is not easy for beginners, i would say. i personally come from "Synapse Audio´s Orion" wich is like the most direct interface youll ever see. If you want to invest time in the same software the coming 5-10 years or so, i wod say Ableton is the best for electronic music. However i would also say that if you want to get going produce really fast, you should try Orion, not FL.

@emotionalbeats71786 жыл бұрын
Trance music is part of my life. But it takes so much time to get to the best part which last for couple of bars. Wrong for me. I want almost main and main part three times sooner. Thats what I will try to achieve. Good comments, but trance will become boring if its all about 30 seconds of main drop. In all other music genres actions starts immediately.
