When I recorded this piece, I kept recalling my trip to Uman, spending an entire autumn day wandering through Sofiyivka Park. I was there during Rosh Hashanah, and Hasidic pilgrims were everywhere. Even after leaving Uman, I encountered them for the next two days-first in Vinnytsya, where they traveled alongside me, and later, back on the train to Dnipro. When I arrived home, I still saw small groups heading toward their pilgrimage.
Watching them, I felt a deep sense of spiritual connection that transcended individual emotions. Even if someone seemed unsatisfied, worried, angry, or sad, there was an unmistakable aura of a communal celebration, an event larger than any personal ego. It reminded me of a state similar to a psychedelic trip, where the self dissolves into something greater-a profound experience valued beyond family, career, or money.
This pilgrimage experience resonated with me deeply, as I walked through Sofiyivka Park. The park, with its centuries-old Christian and Hasidic influences, seems to reflect a unique spiritual harmony. It's impossible not to feel something transcendent in a place like this.
This composition is my attempt to capture the sound of that experience. I believe every Ukrainian should visit a place like Sofiyivka at least once in their life-it truly feels like a national Holy Land to me.
