In school they taught us to use a micrometer when evacuating to ensure no noncondensables remain in the system. There are plenty of questions on the EPA exams about required vacuum levels.
@chrisgormley57514 жыл бұрын
The mice get in through where the piped go into the condenser. They make their way along the spine fin coil and nest inside the electrical compartment. Usually because of a opening where wires are being passed through. If your pinky can fit, so can the mice.
@JF-fx2qv4 жыл бұрын
Good job! Follow most of what you said and done. Some of it is pro jargon. The size of the mostly cut lawn grass clippings for a mouse nest was a dead give away. I'm thinking no mouse would feel safe in a fully operational HVAC. Still would like to know its entry location? Some of those units join the corners together by cutting off the corners of the square sheet metal leaving a hole in the corner ... maybe for rain drainage and/or ease of constructing the units box?

@rogeliolopez21904 жыл бұрын
@@barbaramarrs3107 I don't think that was something bad with trane but with every company that made 13seer units. When the EPA changed the minimum required SEER for air conditioners to 13seer most brands ( this included some entry-level Trane equipment ) added ECM (Brush-less DC motors) to the condensers. this lowered the power consumption enough to be classified as 13seer. The problem with ECM motors and one reason I hate them (and every HVAC equipment that uses them) is that they are no were close to being as reliable as the standard AC motors that have been used for decades and that have been used afterwards. I have seen a bunch of 13 seer units needing fan replacements not too long after being installed. But at least you were blessed with a son that helped you with your system.

But if the R-22 supply runs out then u will have to charge them with a different freon, as many vehicle, and residential and commercial refrigerations are charged with a flammable refrigerant that be a bomb if there is a burnout in the compressor.
