I am British living in Luxembourg, with Swedish family from Lerum, near Goteborg. This looks like a Spanish omelette. Everywhere I go in Europe has a version of this. I love the fact that somewhere in the distant past our ancestors cooked the same food in the same way (and used the same words like egg and ägg)

I find it amusing that the traditional cooking is so much alike in a large part of the world, yet many say that their version is unique in spite of the evidince. Cheers!

It’s so relaxing to join you cooking in the outdoors. Thanks so much. I previously learned how to use my triangle by following the walkingman on KZbin. He cooks in a mess tin and I’m always curious about the various sauces he uses. So I very much appreciate how clear you are in describing your ingredients

Another simple and nutritious outdoor meal and so quick and easy. Thank you for your time and effort. Regarding the Trangia Triangle, we think you will need a windshield most times, but we have found that it seems more efficient than the 28T mini so far as fuel economy is concerned. Take care....Helen with Kat, Terri and Robyn.

Yep, the windshield will come in handy. By luck it fits well in the same bag as the Triangle. I think that I'll prefer to use it with a gasburner since the simmer ring can't be adjusted as good as in other kits. Take care guys!

You’re just a nice guy doing something we all enjoy. I find it very relaxing watching you cook. I started cooking on the Trangia whilst bikepacking for the first time this year. I decided to make a form of a one pot macaroni cheese. I tend to stick with the one meal until I have ironed out all of its faults and dialled it in, it’s a bit boring for my family who are the testers lol. My next is trying to do it with dried eggs(eggs give calories for riding the bike and make it more of a carbonara), dried vegan milk(I avoid cows milk where possible for eczema!), chorizo(because it’s amazing!), parmesan, lentils and macaroni. With all of the ingredients I am trying to reduce the carry weight. Powdered eggs and milk because I carry water anyway, Parmesan because less is more! I can eat it for days because it’s so tasty. Keep filming, it’s a pleasure watching, from another ‘Red’! 👍🏻

👍👍👍 A 'moer by' ('throw in / add to' (anything that gets too close)) omelette 😁 . And yes, they are delicious, filling and nutritious. There are so many variations on this theme (I like to add garlic and cook the diced tomato in with the omelette and then top it off with grated cheese .. served covered in sweet chilli sauce). But then, I am a barbarian 😏. You are correct. It is just another pot stand. The triangle is not on my wish list as I have enough at the moment .. 28 Mini and other, including home-grown assemblies. That said, not a bad purchase in that yes, it does give one the opportunity to 'mix and match' cook sets. A similar worthy competitor in my opinion, worth looking at, is the Bushcraft Essentials Bushbox Ultralight. All in all, a good share .. thanks. Take care ..

LOL, "anything that gets too close", sounds very close to my every day cooking style. The Bushbox UL has a lot that speaks for it, maybe I'll give it a spin later on. If nothing else when my hoarding goes completely overboard... ;-) All the best Thomas!

For cooking with smaller cookware on my triangle I flip it upside down and place a small round wire rack on top. Im sure wire tent pegs would do similar too, perhaps slide them through the holes in the windshield. I like mine, its a great piece of kit

I have the mini and the 27. I can't see a place in my setup for the triangle although it seems a nice bit of kit. Thanks for another great video. Oh and the farmers omlet great stuff. Really suitable for lots of different leftovers.
@RedswedeOutdoors
@RedswedeOutdoors Жыл бұрын
I agree with your assessment. If you both have a mini and a 27 you are well equipped. If you had some odd kettles and Billy pots and was thinking of something smaller than the 27 it could have been an alternative to the Mini. For me I can say I need it to make content, or that I'm developing a hoarder mentality... :-) Cheers!

Greetings from sunny Malaysia. Love the nice relaxed format and practicality of your videos having subscribed a few months back. Love my Mini and Triangle for use outdoors as they are such a handy pack down size for backpacking or bikepacking . I found that using a small round proprietary stainless grill of about 4 or 5 inches takes care of the smaller size pots like my Stanley cookset so it doesn't fall inside the potstand on both the Triangle and the mini.I've found that the windshield is definitely a must take item though. Overall very pleased with performance of my Triangle and recently ordered the new Micro set from the Trangia webshop to add to my collection. It took less than a week to come from Sweden to Malaysia ! Planning to try it out this week. ATVB

Greetings from a rainy Sweden. It seems like we share our views on both sets. I've been loking for the best solution to use a smaller pot and I think I will just bend a steel wire to the right shape. Easy, cheap and packs down neatly in the kit. I hope you'll be happy with your Micro. Cheers!

Deadly dish Red. Great to see you cooking and testing new equipment again too. I’ve been using the Trangia Triangle for years and simply love its simplicity especially during the warmer months. Like all Trangia gear, it’s quality that will stand the test of time and will last a long time. Some may think the triangle is “ slow” to use but when outdoors I see no need to rush. I also love using the trangia 0.6 L kettle to make coffee. Perfect for one person! 😁 Keep up the great work! 😊
@RedswedeOutdoors

Thank you Eugene! I don't think it's slower than any other kit I'm using, and it's quicker with the gasburner if time really should be of importance. I'm with you on that one, I'm rarely in a hurry outdoors. Cheers!

Great to hear! I find that the water is useful in the smaller ones like the Mini and the Triangle. In the larger ones, 25 & 27, I've never seen the need for it this far. The simmer ring has been enough. Cheers!

"Sets" is correct in English. A nice easy one , but the best meals often are . Looking at a veggie version for tomorrow on the shores of loch Ness post swim .... Just don't have the nonstick pan 😮
@RedswedeOutdoors
@RedswedeOutdoors Жыл бұрын
If you're making a veggie alternative you should be ok even without a nonstick since it's most often the pork that causes things to stick, the eggs aren't nearly as bad. Good luck with swimming and tell Nessie I said Hi!

Ahh the master at work! Looks very good indeed. My experience of the Trangia triangle is not altogether positive. I was boiling some water with gas and one of the pot rests just softened and folded over. Something to consider perhaps. Have you heard of Clicstand? They do a triangle but is comes with a windshield, though there is of course a price difference. Perhaps I should do a video on that? 🤷‍♂ Anyway great stuff as always - you're in your stride now and enjoying yourself - long may it continue!

Odd with a pot rest that folds from a gas flame other than a cutting torch. I would expect better than that from Trangia. The Clicstand is an unknown entity for me and a video topic I look forward to. Cheers!

I used a Trangia pot stand but cut most of it away but left a tri legged pot stand that sits in the notches in the triangle, this enables any sized pot to be used.

I don’t have tested the triangle but i’m interested of it cause of the possibility to use the gas burner. 😊 I have tested to modify the T28 to hold the gas burner but the burner is to high 🤔
@RedswedeOutdoors
@RedswedeOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Yes, that's one of the strongest pitches if you ask me. The gas gives excellent flame control and that's kind of needed on the triangle. It has the potential to become the base of a custom light wheight kit that takes a minimum of space in the pack. I hope that it can fulfill that potential, I plan to try it out in any case.
@JoonesAdventuresMC
@JoonesAdventuresMC Жыл бұрын
@@RedswedeOutdoors Yes the flame control on the gas burner is outstanding and gas doesn’t soot and is easier and safer to use than alcohol burner, so it’s superior to alcohol in most cases. Down sides is gas is more expensive especially when it comes to winter gas, most of the gas is fossil even though there is alternative it’s louder and it doesn’t smell “friluftsliv” (nostalgic reason). It’s also more problematic to use almost empty canisters or fill over from one canister to another. 🤔 You can do it but than you have to be interested and learn how to 😊
