I loved everything about this, just such mental toughness. Very inspirational. Which shoes were you running to get that much blistering? I have just cheap off brand trail runners but can still do 14-15mi (not nearly the feat you guys did) with zero blisters. Also injinji toe socks might help. (Just searching for TCT videos and ran across yours)

Thanks for your kind words and for watching! I was wearing Oboz hiking boots for this but quickly switched to Hoka trail runners after. Much better with the Hokas now! I was wearing Injinji toe socks during this hike and unfortunately still got blisters but I still wear them! It really was the trail runners that fixed it for me - oh and lots of foot powder!

Nothing like bouncing back from a health issue for motivation, been there, done that. You really are ultralight, matter of perception apparently. I can't believe the big packs some carry for this. I have all the gear I'm going to get for this hike, I'm pretty light, but will not sacrifice sleep etc. I'm going to take my time, I'm no spring chicken.

We were so ultralight cuz we needed the speed! Would love to do it again and take my time to enjoy the area.

@@sarahtezak This hike has become almost some kind of pilgrimage, none of this matters, I'm thinking June, but if it becomes September, oh well. Preparing for this hike has set a whole process in motion, I'm going climbing/rappelling tomorrow, second childhood or something.

You missed the main purpose of the trail, stop and enjoy it, camp a few places, meet people
@sarahtezak5 жыл бұрын
805gregg We do that often…camp, take our time, explore, etc. This wasn’t that kind of hike. Sometimes you gotta see what you’re made of and push yourself. This was that hike. The purpose of the trail isn’t the same for everyone and that’s the beauty of hiking.

Everyone has different purposes. Why yours should be the right one? There are no right and wrong.
