This video was SO HELPFUL! Thank you so much! I live in England and I didn't understand the process of the NHS but now I do. :) I'm so happy rn

Я не говорю по-русски I'd be careful saying you're NB. The NHS prefer that you're a binary gender to transition.

Wow, we have the same birthday Ryan! Happy Birthday! You have helped me so much with discovering myself and my gender identity. I am 17 today and I just want to thank you for getting me out of hard times. I have been watching your videos since the beginning.

Genderqueer in the UK - Love this vid! My own transition has had a lot of the same problems: Took about a year for my first appointment (an initial assessment), and on my own I had to travel (4 hours by multiple trains) to get to it. Like Freddy said - LOTS of transfolk to deal with, not enough professionals to cope with them all quickly. The woman who assessed me was pretty new, and while she'd never met a nonbinary person before, she was interested in talking to me about who I was, what I wanted, and what the service could provide for me - That was one of the really great things, after GPs were awful and totally ignorant of queer issues (General Practitioners, who refer you to your nearest gender clinic), the specialised professionals were very "What do you need us to do for you?". Very encouraging. Also like Freddy said - there's a level of "Proving" it. I'm very out and very openly nonbinary in presentation and conversation - they asked a lot of questions about who I'm out to, in social / family / workplace. And asked me to bring some kind of proof that my boss indeed knew to the next session (January, 3 months later). Coming out at work has gone way better than I hoped - so I'll be able to do that! So yey! :D ANYWAY - Thanks to both of you for making this video, educating folks and being awesome. Stay awesome - Peace ^^ - Mx. Harry "They, Their & Them"

FYI The process has changed a little bit now. You no longer need to see a psychiatrist before being referred to a gender clinic. You can now be referred directly.
