He brought this wonderful song, the spirit and the message of one beautiful soul taken away from life way too early, back to life in a raw and honest way. Thanks for that.

It's a good version. But the original version cannot be matched. This is because Oliva really felt this song (and also the entire album), it's a part of his life. All the others are just singing the song. Oliva singed his reality.

Like most i ask what this song is about? Ive yet to see anyone that can give me a answer ! So plz lets hear you answers !
@robhake9 ай бұрын
The song is originally from Savatage's rock opera "Streets." It is about a man who only sought fame and fortune through his music. When he achieved it, he found that his life was shallow and in many ways "out of control." He reintroduced himself to his prior "faith" with a new perspective, perhaps a more balanced one. "Believe" is the final track to that album. It doesn't really say what is next, it leaves that to the listener to interpret.

Listen to the grittier, but somehow cleaner, version of the song. Savatage - Believe with Jon Oliva on vocals.

What is this song about? I’m confused with the opening lines
@seahawkerman712 жыл бұрын
That’s a tough answer. The only way to fully get it is to listen to the entire album as it’s the last song and each song builds upon the next as the story unfolds. Google, Streets a Rock Opera by Savatage and enjoy.

@@seahawkerman71 the “After all these one night stands” line is what confuses me. Most of the song sounds like it talking about Jesus
@seahawkerman712 жыл бұрын
@@Dman425 that’s why you have to follow the story but it certainly is a ‘chat’ with Jesus. Paul Oneil, to me, was the greatest song writer. It’s always hard to know exactly what he means in any song honestly but after listening to the full album it does help. Just don’t take the ‘one night stand’ literally as we speak of it today about sex. That’s where the other 15 songs help tell the story. I could be wrong, and it’s too late to ask Paul, but to me after all the ups and downs in this story about the main character, I feel the heart is an offering. He wants into heaven but did not live his life in such a manner that allows it. He did not, Believe.

You need to listen to the whole album. Its a metal opera. This band was sooooo criminally under rated. It would become a tribute to Jon's brother Cris who was killed by a drunk driver in 93'. Just days before I was finally going to get to see these guys live for the first time

If it was meant for you.... you just know.

I really like this guy's voice, but it's a pretty muddy delivery of a song that Jon sang in a very distinct, crisp fashion. It's a little bit hard to convert this one in my mind.
