I'm sorry but a bike is designed from the ground up, not a redesign of an existing bike and this is the best honda can come up with. I love Hondas but this is a deal breaker. Changing oil and air filter should be easy and the maintenance should not be very time consuming. Dang I wanted a Trans Alps but not now. Thanks for the video, it was excellent!!

Hello there. Thanks for your comment. Yeah, it seems to me that bikes now days are getting more and more complicated and hard to maintain. Looking back at 80s and 90s bikes, they where easier to maintain and fix. Now we have to spend 2 hours removing plastics, tank etc in order to get a spark plug changed! 😠I guess manufacturers are not taken this is consideration any longer and part of it is our own fault too. Most folks out there could not be bother to even check the oil don't mind changing it. I guess in the 80s and 90s most bikers took maintenance as part of own a bike. Today we have lazy bikers. 😁 also with all the bells and whistles that most bikes are made today, no wonder the air filter would be bury under all that crap. Like you I would love to see honda design a bike which basic maintenance like oil, filter, spark plugs can be done by anyone with as little effort as possible.... but I don't think we will see this in the near future. Unless we are back to the basics. All the best! 👍

@@44degreesmotorcycleadventures If you think this is bad have a look at a Gold Wing or Pan European or even a Deauville. As soon as there is plastic stuff gets hidden and complex. My Hornet 919 was a drean compared to this (apart from changing the throttle cables).

@@jsmith7013 Hello and thanks for your comment. I totally agree with you. Maintenance should not be something so hard that most people just don’t want to do because of the hassle of removing parts. I guess most modern bikes now have this issue. Since I moved to my XRV750 and Dr650 I completely understand now why so many RTW riders have chosen these old school of the 90s. I guess that is why a lot of people bring their bikes to a mechanic to do their maintenance… Just a shame! Great bike nevertheless 👍

What did you spray on the exhaust for rust prevention?

Hello there. To be honest there is not much you can spray on the exhaust that would work 100 percent. This is because anything you spray on it, it will evaporate when it gets hot. What I do is ensure that I always stored the bike dry and I spray some rust killer spray. Any one you can find is fine. But you will have to do that after every ride. Even doing all that my exhaust will need some attention at the end of this season. So bottom line is if your exhaust is quite rust I would recommend you to remove it and clean as much as you can. Otherwise spraying will do it no good. Best if luck
