5:30 The Shinko 241 are trial tires (not trail, trial) they are a softer compound (more sticky as they call it in trials riding) and will wear quite fast. What you are looking for is Shinko 244 dual-sport tires, basically same tread pattern but last about 10k miles, they have a harder street tire rubber but also feature the knobs for off-road. You can actually run front and rear 244 at 3.0 inch wide as long as you raise the front mud guard up 5mm or so using a riser kit. That way when your rear tire wears down, you swap it with the front buying you 1.8 times the distance or so before needing to buy a new tire!

hahaha, I found a piece of pallet wood to carry for that exact same purpose. I carried a spare tire draped over my stuff and the wood went in that along with a spare tube wedging it in place.
