Considering this was an artist rendering of projected concept created in 2011, the reality of 2018 turned out to be spot on. (Sadly, two beams near Fremont Street have since cracked and need repair. BART station is a short one block away.

Rail at the terminal ended in 1958? What about San Francisco's Municiple Railway? Didn't those streetcars go to the Mission street side until the end of the1970s...

What no BART? and no future SMART rail from Marin County? very poor planning. I would spend the money and bring in BART, SMART as well and even re-route some of the infamous cable cars into this new station. BOO HISS on this usually horrible planning.

Too expensive to reroute all of them. Plus they didn't serve it in the past so why make things difficult by doing so now?

BART is 1 entire block away any plans to extend Marin's trains 30 miles underwater to SF?

Lower concourse level will have a pedestrian tunnel to Embarcadero BART station, which also has a transfer to the California Street cable car line. No plans for SMART service yet, but I imagine they would put tracks in the median of the lower level roadway on the Golden Gate Bridge to build something like this.

Yes, you are absolutely right. Given that the Bay Area is the home of so many successful, powerful companies, could they not share the cost of expanding and improving the public transport infrastructure? Ultimately, they would benefit from such an investment.
