Beautiful, articulate, and wise. But you're confusing when i hear about your daughter and ideas relating to sex. If you have a daughter, you can't set that aside. You owe her proper foundations+development. And you can't develop to the extent you want while bound to sex or humanity or world or whatever. As i see it, you want to maintain a good practice of virtue+concentration, and when the time is right+ripe, it will be unavoidable. It will be a form of existential crisis that demands you give all of everything you got. It's not on-demand. Works+grace. You can't intellectualize your way to any stage of enlightenment. No, at the end. What you think of as natural+normal is sappy wood. It can't light a fire. When you lose all, that is when clinging stops. My advice: you're fine, do what you need to do and maintain your practice. When your daughter is grown+married, then you are free to be be more serious. It seems to me that this is the lesson of enlightenment during the Buddha's time. Many were already suffering forms of existential crisis, including Gotama. So, when he attained enlightenment, he acquired a large following of similar people. And there was a brief and rapid period of many obtaining enlightenment. But after that, only a trickle. Because the net he cast caught all the fish in despair. And after, there was only fish with clinging. Read the sutta called The All, and the one about sappy wood.
