Dude! Wes! Such a great video on framing out these windows. We are done with the demo of the inside and are on the phase to make that decision right now. Just found some "frameless" blacked out tinted windows that we're considering acquiring and this video gave us confidence in the window frame design we were thinking about. Thanks for putting this together, dude! Look forward to meeting you on the road one of these days :) Tony from AAA Bus told us how awesome you are at fab work, and he wasn't lying! - Brian + Erin Currently converting our '97 Thomas Saf-T-Liner, Flat Front, Rear Engine 40' Skoolie

Love following your progress on the bus. I bought a Thomas last summer, up here in Alaska, & am so happy I found your channel. I am tall & need to raise my roof & will do it exactly like you showed. Your videos are going to be my guide so don't goof up lol

I like what your doing and now my son wants to try and rework an old bus. Thanks for sharing your journey. I want to know when you put square tubing in the window frames do think it would be easier to bend sheet metal to match the uprights along the walls.I think it might have been less work and just as strong. It would have saved some weight as well.

Sure thing....there are many ways to build a bus and that's what makes them unique. The builder always has a different way to build something. It's really nice to get new ideas this way. Happy building!

These videos of the frame extension are still my favourite... now that the bus is basically done with its maiden voyage, are there any frame modifications you wish you had done?

Me too

Did I miss where the windows came from? They arent original bus windows I dont think.

Love watching the build out, and I'm catching up from the start of it, but I just realized in this video how much you look like Christian Bale at times...

Nice plan! The cold and rain definitely slows things down. Will you be putting a door in back?
@TranscendExistence11119 жыл бұрын
+devonblaine Yes.....check out Episode 11. Theres a bit of work and discussion about the rear door. Thanks for watching!

Have you ever done one cutting under the windows instead of how you cut this one???
@TranscendExistence11115 жыл бұрын
Robert Matos I personally haven’t, but it’s absolutely possible.

Looks like the window is set to high. I think you should have sat a chair in there in order to determine the correct Keith of the window placement. Just a suggestion please don’t take as criticism

Just curious cause I'm working on a plan for mine but why not go the extra and raise it to 13 or 13' 6". Looks awesome so far!

For me...I think proportionally, it would look bad. Also....the width is fairly narrow, I believe it would become fairly unstable at highway speeds, especially if trying to fight a crosswind. It would essentially become a huge sail on the road. You see Big Rigs always parked when the sidewinds are strong. Just my thoughts though.

Hey, I just got done watching episode 9--and now this episode--is the measurement of your roof now that you raised it vs. how it started? Will you bus be street legal, or does height requirements vary from state to state? One last question, will you still be able to get a modified vehicle RV title on your bus? Let me know please and thank you!
@TranscendExistence11118 жыл бұрын
The overall height as it sits now after being raised is only 11'4". I have plenty of room still to be within the legal requirements of any State. The legal maximum height limits as far as my research, are 13', 13'6", and 14' depending which State you are in. It will definitely be on the road when completed. I plan to live and travel in it full time. In the state of Kansas, it's way cheaper to insure it as a commercial vehicle, so thats the route I'm taking. It's tagged as a commercial vehicle also. I could get it reassigned if I wanted or if things change later down the road, but for now, this works good for me. I hope this helps answer your questions....thanks for watching my videos.

where did you mesure the height roof to the ground or was it inside floor to roof ? and the with and is that a non air breaks bus that you don't need a cdl liceance for?
@ronalves91185 жыл бұрын
As long as the total weight is under 29,000 lbs no CDL required no mater what brakes you have.
