I love Middle Eastern themes. I like a fair bit of world music styles. In this track the drums stood out in particular. They were really, REALLY good. If those were samples then they have me fooled. Sounded as if it were recorded live. That can be hard to pull off depending on the quality of samples and programming as well. I just finally got an Akai MPD18 even though I don't really use it. Velocity is hard to mimic without something like that.

Very true to the original, this remix has A LOT of work, planning and thought to have it executed so perfectly. The best Spirit Temple Remix by far. I felt like I was walking through the desert to find my way to the Spirit Temple. Nicely done!
@RebeccaETripp10 жыл бұрын
^_^ Thank you. Of the 5, this is probably the OoT temple track that is closest to the original one- but it definitely had no less planning than the others! Especially where all those pitch bends are placed. I do all that stuff by hand/notation, rather than finding samples of anything. Thank you for noticing.

I haven’t found a single rendition of this tune that nails the middle eastern reed instrument solo like the original does. Yours nails it to a tee. Fantastic work. The pitch bends scattered about play into that mystery and grandeur the original song did as a kid. It gave me chills hearing it! Amazing work! Also, what instrument was that? I’ve been trying to find it for ages, yet have come up with nothing.
@RebeccaETripp3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! ^_^ Gosh, I made this song so many years ago that I don't even have the project file any more! I'm 90% sure I used an Egyptian mijwiz for the more "nasal" sounding lead in this song. The one you might be thinking of/trying to find could be a duduk? There are a lot of similar sounding instruments from Northern Africa and the Mediterranean.

I'm really pleased. I pour my heart and soul into my music, including my arrangements. I wanted others to hear the music the way I hear it- or to feel the way it made me feel. It's kind of like... How everyone can paint the same person or bowl of fruit, yet every single picture will look unique and beautiful in its own way. I wanted to share my own, personal "facet" of the Spirit Temple crystal Miyamoto and Kondo implanted in my heart when I was a child.
