I’m about to turn 60 and just started refinishing furniture. It’s very satisfying to bring a piece of furniture back to life that will be used for many more years. I’m not very fast but love learning as I go.

I love how you address the entire piece including the bottom. So many KZbin furniture refinishers ignore areas that aren’t visible. I think it demonstrates your level of professionalism. Love your channel! One of my favs!!!

You should stick a sticker on the back of your furniture with a QR code that takes you to a video on KZbin of that piece of furniture being renovated. So over the years withnew owners of the furniture even 50 years from now will see your video and see you refinishing it. I just think it is a nice idea someone in 50 years might come across the QR code scan it then watch it.

Those holes in the ends of the table apron are for “Dutch Leaves” which extend the size of the table very elegantly with a simple angled support. My Mom’s Danish Modern dining table has them. I will be refinishing that 50 year old table with Odie’s Oil inspired by your work.

Oh is that how they are called? That's a cool bit of information for a Dutchie like me. As far as I know we do not have a specific name for them. Then again, you hardly see them nowadays. Personally I have an extendable table with a piece folded in the middle, between the two halve circles. My grandma's had tables where the leaves would be stored under the top, you would just pull them out. Never gave a thought about the mechanics of it!

Seeing that table at the beginning of the video, I couldn’t tell the grain created a pattern. I couldn’t even tell it had grain. Great rescue, lots more beautiful years in that table, thanks to you.

Watching your videos is so relaxing. Every restoration is a miracle. Just from the videos I’ve watched, you could probably furnish a nice size home. It’s very gratifying to know there are people that restore pieces instead of junking them. I still have the tall chest of drawers that was in my nursery! I’m 59 and I refinished it years ago, knowing next to nothing about the tricks to making refinishing a bit easier but the piece has been with me my whole life.

Aww that is like my parent's kitchen table (but with the slide out leaves). My parents still have theirs and it is in pretty good shape for being 40 years old. What you said about maintenance and care giving it a long life rings true. Even the teak coffee table that is more like 60 years old (and went to my first college house with me) is still in good shape because of teak oil and care.

wow Angie…you do make magic….most people wouldn’t have even known this was a teak table let alone know how to fix it!! It turned out absolutely gorgeous🌟🙌🏻🤩 Just beautiful….this is your gift….I love watching the projects unfold…your thought process and knowledge about wood working is truly special and I learn so much! My husband and I bought a teak adirondack loveseat and two chairs for our first porch 40 years ago….I still have the chairs and used tung oil on them last summer and they turned out brand new….it was their first drink in those 40 years!!! The set was/is solid teak and they were foldable….I’m still kicking myself over letting my hubby trash the loveseat🙈😭 probably something very fixable… but I’m happy to have my chairs because they are beautiful and will most likely outlast me. Thank you so much for sharing your gift😊kim

Your talent continues to blow me away!!🤯 As I said on your community post, if anyone can do it, it’s you and BOOM! This table is STUNNING, Angie. And while the shades of the individual pieces all looked so different when they were separate, they don’t as one piece. So I have an idea, you need to start selling “gear” with your logo on it and the first item, coasters! Then with every table, nightstand, or basically anything with a top that you sell, you give a set of two or four to the buyer. Seriously though, I’d totally buy a mug with your logo on it.💜

😍 The color of the wood so rich! We picked up a Domino teak desk from a charity shop for $11 USD. It was intended for my sister, but never picked it up. It sat in our attic for years. It had a bad ring, nail polish dripped down, and a broken leg. Teak oil, steak wool and elbow grease brought it bag to life! Angie, Your refinished one the other month that was similar! And way worse condition to start!

We also had a blond oak gate-leg dining table, with leaves. What I wouldn't give to have that piece!! :D See you next time.

I bought a similar table back in 1985 from a danish furniture store. it is still going strong and still has the slide out extensions and is being used by a nephew . It was fun to see this one come back to life.

This is so interesting for me to see. I remember about 10 years ago when I worked in a secondhand store. We would have to throw away a lot of these danish furnitures because no one wanted them. So sad to think about now. Can add that I live in Scandinavia.
