Another great video. Yes the M5s is the go to Echo probe for adult. I work in Peds Echo but we use Philips. I have a couple of prn gigs doing General, Vascular and adult echo. I would love to have a machine at the Peds Echo job with the linear probes. My coworkers have never some anything but Echo. They don’t realize the value of having sector, linear and curved probes available. I am surprised because they are all much younger than me and have no interest in learning.

Damn that's wild, yeah some people are fine with status quo. Thanks for your insightful comment, I have gotten some pretty amazing pediatric heart images with linear probes on neonates while scanning their chests for pleural effusions!

A bit of an off topic question for this video, but because of the certain types of imaging you covered, I’m going to ask lol. If my goal were to do neuro sonography, should I be planning to do the general & ob/gyn track or vascular? I know I can always go for one and get certified in another, but that’s where I hold a lot of my interest in. I’m obviously 100% wanting to do all the other types of imaging I would need to do day to day, but I’ve always been very interested in the neuro aspect of imaging when it comes to Sonography. Thank you so much in advance!

General, neurosonography is just a very small part of what you’d be doing you cant just specialize in those two exams. I.e. spine and brain ultrasound

@@SonographicTendencies right, right! I always felt like Vascular would be more involved with neuro, but the more research I do the more it appears general is the best path for me to go down. Thank you for clarifying!

@@LoganF as a general sonographer many times you’ll be involved in vascular, some departments have dedicated vascular departments, but the ones I’ve worked at don’t, so you’ll do general and vascular!

@@SonographicTendencies oh okay, thank you! My school offers 3 programs; cardiac, vascular, and general & ob/gyn. Really I’m just trying to figure out the best path for me based on my interests. I wouldn’t have any prior knowledge on where I would end up working at and how their departments are set up obviously, but you’ve helped a lot. Thank you for your insight!

When it comes to liver transplants, I’m bringing all of the probes just in case I can’t see the left lobe properly.
