Dude you did a great job on this. I do a lot of work on my cars and motorcycles and it's certainly appreciated that you put so much attention into telling us the sockets sizes to use as that saves a lot of time. Keep up the great work, I'm subscribing

Thanks for the video. It was very helpful. My two bolts snapped on the skid plate, where yours broke. I drilled them out so I can get new ones and put the skid plate back on.

Sehr gute Anleitung.

I did the Transfer case, transmission and both diffs at the same time. I got lucky though as I don't have as much rust.

My mechanic did mine, oh its 21000 miles between service, but he used normal gear oil! Not the friction oil recommend! It juddered turning! Proper oil and additive now in, but it still juddered alittle! Do u know if something could be damaged or does it take a few turns for the proper oil to do its job?

A flush and drain and fill are different jsyk. You did a drain and fill. Proper terminology is key!

One of those metal or plastic funnel with a bendable tube probably would work to fill the transfer with the quart bottles.

Nice video. Just did it on mine. I needed about 2,2 quarts :-S But after I drained it I turned the shafts going out of the transcase. After 1/2 turn it draines another 0,2-0,3 quarts.

Good video on changing the transfer case fluid. I also have a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee in the Limited trim equipped with the 4.7 liter V8 engine. I'm not sure if yours have the same engine or the 5.7 liter HEMI V8, but you can let me know. On my Jeep I changed the transmission fluid 5 months ago. My Jeep had a stalling issue when it's coming to a stop. After the fluid and the two transmission filters got changed the stalling stopped. Currently I'm in the process of getting the front differential fluid changed. After that I'll do the fluid for the rear differential and then I'll do the fluid for the transfer case.

Hello man, I have the same jeep grand cherokee limited 4.7 v8. 2005.....it is the same fluid for both the transfer case, and the automatic transmisión... ATF+4 Valvoline. The transfer case is 2/4 u.s. Quart, and automático transmission is to 8/4 u.s. Quart.

Thanks man... According to the Jeep's manual say ATF +4 Mopar but I can't find but I find Valvoline ATF +4.....I think it is the same fluid.... Nice road bike. Greatings from Perú.

Do not use atf 4 in the transer case unless you have the QT1 system use the oil you saw him use in the video its available online or at the chrysler dealership. The factory warns against using atf4 in the transfer case of the QT2 and QD2. See wkjeeps.com under the maintanance schedule mine is a 2006 gc limited. pn for tc oil is 05016796AC this covers the nv245/247/249 series tc or the qt2 and qd2 system 3.8pts. The qt1 uses the atf4 1.4pts. Change every 30,000 miles diffs every 30k unless severe service then 15k severe dusty and wet enviroments on a regular basis.

Jesus, what a struggle of a video. Next time you know how to do about all that in a fraction of the time! Also, welcome to owning a Jeep. Step one, remove rust bolts, step two do the job you thought you would do. Also, PB blaster is used (IMO) PRIOR to the job, 3 days, 2 days, and 1 day before the final day I spray the rusty jeep bolt Im trying to loosen. Its a 'breaker'. Also, keep your truck level when re filling, that is how the engineers designed the placement in the fill hole. Have faith. Also, check you were not using the wrong size socket to undo the bolt. Nothing really "fusses" its more the socket was a tinny bit bigger and the nut got stuck and jammed. Almost like an error in metric versus english. Either way, good video man, keep up the good work.

every time i try to switch into 4wd it says “service 4wd system”, would changing the fluid solve that?

Probably not, but check to see if the recall for the 4WD has been done. Mine had the same issue and the recall fixed it

There's a software update that a Jeep dealership will perform free of charge to fix that. They f'ed up a long time ago and it took one class-action lawsuit and many hundreds of thousands of message board posts, angry customers at dealerships, etc. for them to admit their mistake and fix it.
@joegriffin6699
@joegriffin6699 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, hopefully you'll get this message.. it's probably due to lack of use. There's a simple fix involving removing a fuse, firing it up, switching off then refit fuse. It's on KZbin. Sorted mine . And several others apparently.

You need to undercoat paint you Jeep. I undercoated my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland with about 10-- .97¢ cans of black from Walmart. It made underneath look new. You might need to wire wheel first rust spots if the rust is bad enough.

🟫You looks like you need to wire wheel the rust off underneath and undercoat paint it with rhino line type of paint or at least the .97¢ cans of black paint from Walmart to rust proof underneath the truck or it is going to have major rust problems!
