I've been using for months now and hating it. Most important for me is the location service using the iphone GPS. The problem is way too often the camera and the iPhone do not reconnect, or somehow lose the connection and don't find each other again. Even if one is a mere 30 cm from each other..... it keeps searching the camera. Then out of the blue, sometimes they find each other. To the point that hundreds of my pictures do not have the location in the metadata. Sony, it really sucks. Please solve the problem. I already wrote about it in other channels and Sony's sites. I never had any reply. SAD.

what you're failing to clarify is that you must be connected to a wifi network that is in turn connected to the internet to work. I had this same functionality with my Nikon sports bodies connected to a wireless portable router. This will not work at present, and if it does, there's no documentation found anywhere on the net. Want sports shooters to use the A9. Figure out the connections, it's a must have for Getty and any real sports outlet covering events.

i am about to update to firmware 5.0 but hesitating, as it says "MP4" video recording has been removed. Mp4 was the only format camera allows to send to phone directly. with the new update there are no options to transfer videos to phone???

To autofocus while controlling with smartphone, set focus area to "Wide" and make sure AF w/ Shutter Release is "ON".

Why did Sony company forget about the users of the A system and in particular about the ILCA-99M2. Not a single firmware update has been released since 2016 !!! The FE system is certainly very good and promising, but not for everyone.

How do you get it to work if you cannot connect with the camera? I have never seen a camera manufacturer take away functionality of a camera thru poorly developed apps until I purchased a Sony. Hence will again from now on never purchase another Sony ever again. Sony support is really good in having you talk to a computer or give you the silent treatment. Service is just not there for me to consider Sony gear to be professional.

How come your picture and video quality are great and user experience -with every app or accessories just sucks? It's the o-ring in the underwater case, the Play-memories country based limitation and poor compliance with PC's and Smartphones, the lack of support with thousands of un-resolved question and bugs on forums and FB...and now this "new" app that can't do basic staff like copy the videos or images to high end modern smartphone. you lost me as a client for good!

Camera facturers are very late in terms of smart functions!! They stick to the basic criterias they already know and pump them up (Mégapixels, battery length, etc.. So few innovations or so late in terms of NEW features, NEW tools (that have now become basic).
