But you have to look at the club that they are going to. Arsenal are trying to contend for the title, whereas West Ham are trying to qualify for the Europa League. On paper, Zaza is a good signing for West Ham, whereas Arsenal probably needed someone better than Perez. Look at all the other title contending teams - City have Aguero, Utd have Zlatan, Chelsea have Costa... These guys will all score 20+ goals in the PL this season. Will Perez? Probably not...

Your football knowledge is clearly not as good as you think it is. How can you place West Ham in fifth over teams like Liverpool, Chelsea and Everton. You mentioned nothing about Idrissa Gueye for Everton and he has been the stand out player for them already this season with his high energy and intensity. Also Ashley Williams, a leader, which Everton have lacked for years. Chelsea have added Kante, David Luiz, Alonso and Batshauyi. These are top quality players which will push for that league title and a lot better than West Ham's bang average players that they have brought in.

Right? Barcelona paid 20m euros more and got SIX PLAYERS. Digne and Umtiti at LB and CB both 22 and already playing great Denis Suarez and Andre Gomes in midfield both 22 as well, Cilessen as a GK who isn't that great but he is a decent backup and Paco Alcacer at striker 23 a player with experience and loads of potential as well. That's more than HALF a team for one really good player (I don't even rate him that highly but to each his own). If you are going to pay 89m quid you want 40+ goals a year or a player who completly dominates and controls the midfield. He's definitely not a Scholes or Zidane or a Xavi/Iniesta in their primes and he definitely isn't Messi or Ronaldo.

That's what Chelsea and Man City paid. 53m for 2 excellent midfielders and you still have 36m to spend, money with which they could of bought another CB or an amazing RB. Ayew wasn't really overpriced. He was Swanseas best player and scores goals, can't expect to pay any less for him. Arbeloa was brought in for leadership and to help Byram develop. We now have one of the best youth teams in the country. We fixed our problem of last year which was squad depth. And we got rid of Valencia. Was a very good window.
