Can't understand why we have let Downes go and for so little money. Just my opinion of course but I was of the idea that he would have been a valuable player for us for the upcoming season. We clearly have a plan that doesn't include him but surely having him as backup would have been sensible....Great show again.....Loved watching Potts yesterday....maybe not quite a "Rolls Royce " but certainly a limousine!!!! Keep up the great work....COYFI!!!

I’m not sure that they are sure on Duran, they might be using him to get someone else? Or it might just be the Copa (which he didn’t light up I hear?). Downes is a shame, never got the chance he deserved and he’s only being sold cos we need the money I feel. It is the best time to sell him, his stock being high with Southampton but it doesn’t seem we have capitalised on that, we would still get 15-18 next season, the only reason to sell him now should be to get 20-25 as saints were desperate.

I have a feeling Paq will down tools instead of enjoying football if it was his last. If we loan him then id say half his value with the full value after loan if he escapes ban or jail. Plus sell on fee as we have stuck by him.

I watched the second half of the friendly. Playing possession football is clearly going to be the order of the day under Loppy. Thought we lacked a cutting edge in the final third. A draw against the Hungarian champions who have been in pre-season training for a month is a good start to pre-season.

Alright Nick& fellow Boozers?? Personally,I’m glad Downes has gone but I feel we could have squeezed a few more million out of them.. Freddie Potts… due for a big season, I feel it. Said it on your show months ago that I believe he has more of a ceiling than Downes,plus composure, balance and strength. Duran’s price is still high for me. For a player, all be it with potential, who hasn’t done anything in two years, who came for £14m, doesn’t justify £33m. That said I think we need to make a final bid and state as much and move on or buy him. We do need lots of players and agree things are too slow. We still need to offload (Aguerd,Zouma,JWP&Soucek& hopefully Ings)… A month til the season starts…⚒

Too true, Nick. Too cheap for Flynn. He'll have a massive point to prove against us, and he's got the grit to give us a headache. Another sex dwarfe masterclass in selling quality players short, i.e., Arnie and Payet. AWB is more staunch than KWP. We'll ship less goals and get our creativity elsewhere in a talented midfield.

I think Potts is decent. He has a decent ceiling. Brought up to be a footballer aswell. I'd be happy to move into the season with Alvarez, Souceck, One more CM/CDM and Potts. And sell JWP

Agreed. It does seem to be going slower than I'd hoped for, now Moyes has gone. A lot of noise but relatively small action. The pre season game. I expected and hoped to learn a bit more about style of play and to see which players would try to turn it on for their chances to be a part of the squad. Didn't see much really. Turned it off half time and watched the rest later.
