But could you do the transfer for halftones/rasterized images to dark t-shirt?
@transferexpress
@transferexpress 10 ай бұрын
Sure Can! You can see in this video printing on dark garments made with cotton, polyester or blends are simple and easy! For raster artwork the process works the same. For any images with halftones, you shouldn't have a problem as long as the dot size is 1pt or greater with negative space between them of at least .04" to meet minimum standards.

I have some Goof Proof prints from you and I was wondering if there was a limit to how many times they can be pressed. I need to be able to press one image and peel it to line up a second image that will go slightly above the first one. I know I will need to cover the first image to protect it when I press a second time. Then I need to do this a third time. So the first image will have been pressed 3 times when all is said and done. Will that first image be ok? This is for a custom run of shirts that a client wants. They wanted to combine several of my designs into one.
@transferexpress
@transferexpress 2 жыл бұрын
Goof proof is super versatile, however, three full presses may over-cure the inks and make them more brittle and prone to premature cracking. What you can do, is under-apply and carefully remove the carrier paper for the first or second images. 340 degrees for 6-8 seconds will allow the carrier to peel and the inks to stick, but will not fully cure the design to the shirt. Of course, if you can limit the presses and print multiple designs in the same press (if its the 2nd or 3rd) It may help keep clear of over application. For these unique application scenarios we would recommend testing the prints and washing one before delivering to your customer.

Can we use the Goof Proof Screen Printed Transfers on 95-100% polyester?
@transferexpress
@transferexpress 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Alex, you sure can! Be sure to test the polyester for heat-sensitivity first as Goof Proof can not be applied lower than 325 degrees. Some heat sensitive poly(typically the more inexpensive and/or heavily dyed stuff: navy, maroon, black, etc) may require temperatures lower than that to protect the garment from damage- in that case Elasti Prints, UltraColor Max and UltraColor Pro apply at 290 degrees.

Can I use my cricut easy press to apply these transfers?
@transferexpress
@transferexpress 2 жыл бұрын
We've seen some people use the easy press with good results, however, we don't really recommend it for a few reasons: 1. The temperature setting on the cricut presses are typically 40 degrees F lower than what the display shows. 2. Without a locking or adjustable pressure, the pressure is 100% on how hard you can push down (These require 60-80 PSI) so for some people even their full body weight is not enough. When printing multiple garments, the pressure can vary, effecting the long-term durability of the transfers. We did a video comparing the Easy Press against a locking heat press: kzbin.info/www/bejne/opzXeGqGnrFoes0 And we also had some surprising results with the Easy Press Mini: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpy3kJinotuSa6M

What about garments like Maroon, Red, and Royal blue cotton that normally take two passes of white? If I apply a screen print transfer to any of those color shirts dye migration will set in. I checked the site to do 25 full-color transfers. If they are screen printed I do not know because it asked me about a white outlinie? But at 9.00 per print that is exactly what my profit is to do each shirt screen printed. I see no way to make money in this manner. I can not double the customer's cost. So how does this work for a screen printer when they are looking for relief when too busy to set up a 5 color job? How does anyone make money using this service if you charge their profit. I am not trying to be a jerk, it is a legitimate question.
@transferexpress
@transferexpress 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Paranormal Response, you've got a few good questions here we'd love to answer! Dye Migration: We mix up our own proprietary blend of plastisol ink that reduces typical dye migration on 100% cotton garments. Heavily dyed or sublimated 100% polyester can definately migrate with transfers- we offer the UltraColor Stretch with Blocker and CAD PRINTZ Soft Opaque for those garments of concern. But, our standard Goof Proof plastisol ink, screen printed transfers will appear the same as if you did two hits of white on with direct screen printing. We'd love to send you samples so you can try them for yourself: www.transferexpress.com/marketing-tools/free-samples White Outline: The only transfer type that mentions a "white outline" are the CAD-PRINTZ transfers (We have 2 versions: Soft Opaque or Express) While we still print a bunch of those, they are essentially printed vinyl and are reserved for specialty use, so they require the outline for cutting (we can do full bleed too- It's just not standard). If you're looking to emulate a 5 color screen print (or photorealism, gradients, etc), our UltraColor Max direct to film transfers would likely be the best choice for transfers for you. Those are only 6 cents a sq inch, for example a 10 x 4" full chest graphic they would be $2.40 per print. For higher quantity runs (let's say 72 pieces) We would recommend switching over to the UltraColor Pro (they are sold by the 11.5 x 18" sheet, so we could fit 4 of those 10 x 4" graphics per sheet) At 18 Sheet quantity, the pricing is $8.75 per sheet, divided then by 4 images on the sheet equals $2.18 per image. As for "screen printed" the majority of our transfers are screen printed, you can see the breakdown between transfer types here: www.transferexpress.com/heat-applied-transfers Our plastisol screen printed transfers (Goof Proof, Hot Split, Elasti Prints, etc) do increase in price as you add more colors similar to all screen printing, but decrease in price with quantity- You can calculate all of the pricing for your project easily using the quoting tools on this page: www.transferexpress.com/pricing Using the same scenario above with our jumbo sheets and a 5 Color print with our goof proof screen printed transfers, if we could fit 4 per sheet, at 72 total quantity (18 sheets), you would be looking around $5.17 per image with vector artwork. I hope this helps!

@@transferexpress Thank you for taking the time on a very detailed response. I am going to give you a try for sure. I do some eco solvent transfers but screen print 90 percent of the time. No one really likes the transfers but if it comes down to cost they cave in. I need a better option. DTF is even better than the SISER stuff. Weeding isn't a process I'm fond of.
@transferexpress
@transferexpress 2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! We're always happy to help. We've seen quite a few screen printers turn to screen printed transfers lately because of how difficult it is to find experienced screen printers to setup jobs and run presses, using transfers allows them to remain profitable bringing anyone in to operate the press. If you've got the staff (or yourself) and the equipment in place you're already winning! I will say, the DTF transfers really change the game for low piece, high color count artwork that you can profit a ton off of with just a heat press.

These transfers are higher quality than what can be typically produced at home. It's much less financial risk and a more profitable business model to order only when needed. These screen printed transfers require a commercial screen printing setup to produce them: Dark room, emulsion, screens, reclaim units, inks, pigments, squeegees, screen printing presses, which can be difficult to fit into home-setups. With turnaround times as quick as the next business day they arrive fast, so you have the same advantages of producing in-house without the equipment, supplies or learning curve. @transferexpress
@transferexpress Жыл бұрын
These screen printed transfers could cover pre-printed shirts but it would depend on the colors in the inks on the garment already and the way they were printed. (If you're trying to use white ink to cover bright yellow or red inks, it may bleed through) With applying any heat to existing ink on the fabric you run the risk of overapplying or over-curing those inks which may lead to premature cracking or wash durability.

So does sublimation ink work with plastisol transfers???
@transferexpress
@transferexpress 2 жыл бұрын
Typically, you wouldn't mix sublimation printing with a standard screen printed plastisol transfer, they're just different processes. If sublimation is printed first, the sublimation inks will bleed through the screen print (unless its black ink). If the dye sub is printed on top of the screen printed transfer, it most likely would wash out of the plastisol inks when first laundered.

No. A desktop printer like the Epson p800 can be converted to print Direct To Film heat transfers but cannot print screen printed transfers like we show here. Screen printed transfers are printed using a screen, squeegee liquid ink and dryers or curing units (like a flash). Unlike desktop printers, for screen printing a stencil is created in screen with emulsion in which plastisol ink is pushed through to create an image (or transfer in this case). Our Elasti Prints Transfers ( www.transferexpress.com/heat-applied-transfers/elasti-prints-screen-printed-transfers ) are specifically formulated for athletic printing on temperature sensitive garments. We do recommend using a sheet of paper on the inside when pressing to ensure the transfer does not stick to the back inside if you cannot thread the garment on your heat press.

Absolutely true Lincoln. However, 99% of print shops would not be able to decorate that on such short notice. A rush job in low quantities with that short of a turnaround should be priced accordingly too. Of course, leveraging alternative methods like heat transfer vinyl would be able to accommodate a job like that.

Hey Scotty, sounds like you've got 4-6 colors in your design? We can help! Our UltraColor Max transfers aren't a plastisol screen printed transfer, but allow for affordable, high-color artwork in any quantity- they're just as durable and priced just 6 cents a square inch and feel great printed on apparel: www.transferexpress.com/heat-applied-transfers/ultracolor-max Because of the nature of screen printing, each ink color requires an individual screen to be produced to print the color, so at low quantity, the per piece rate is high because of the setup involved in printing. If you add quantity (in this case just 12) the price of the transfers are almost cut in half. We have a great "What Transfer To Use When" guide that shows what the most cost-effective transfer will be depending on your quantity and colors in your artwork here: www.transferexpress.com/choose-heat-transfer-type

They charged me $111 for one color one design and 6 sheets lol
@transferexpress
@transferexpress 2 жыл бұрын
Oh no! It sounds like something isn't right, I'd love to help get that cost down for you- Our Screen Printed transfers start at just $9.64 per sheet for one color at 6 quantity and then drop with the quantity breaks at 12, 18, etc. For low quantities, we also have our UltraColor Max transfers which are just 6 cents a square inch, or about $25 for anything you can fit on a 20 x 20 sheet. I checked in our system to find more details on this order but wasn't able to find any order listed for you or your business. Can you provide any details? I'd love to help out!

Screen print trying hard to be DTF?
@transferexpress
@transferexpress Жыл бұрын
Sure DTF transfers sure are cool, but these screen printed transfers might be even better! They've been the heat transfer of choice for over 30 years for many apparel decorators: All the benefits and quality of screen printing but without the mess of inks, screens, squeegees, emulsion or clean up... These Screen Printed Transfers actually beat DTF in a few spots: ✔️ Feel of the print on the shirt: These screen print transfers are made with real plastisol inks, so they look and feel identical to a soft hand screen print on a t-shirt. The prints move, flex and wear incredibly well without any of that plastic feel. ✔️ Pricing: With DTF being priced as a full color transfers, you may be over paying for the single-color or limited color artwork. DTF has a fixed price regardless of quantity, so at larger quantities DTF can get quite expensive. For maximum profit on those bigger runs these screen printed transfers are definitely the way to protect your profit margins. ✔️ Application Efficiency: With a quick, hot peel application in as few as 4 seconds, there's no faster transfer around. Do more with less time, no waiting to peel! Effortless applications on cotton, cotton/poly blends or polyester fabrics- great for t-shirts and fleece. You can checkout our own comparison between these two transfer types here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p4GQlpKNnbCWhZo Also, try some free samples out for yourself: www.transferexpress.com/marketing-tools/free-samples
