How do i know what instrument the dentist needs next ?

Dental procedures will follow a logical sequence. Take amalgam for example, first the doctor re-examines the tooth (mirror & explorer), then the tooth has to be prepped (hand pieces), then rinsed and dried (A/W syringe), then the filling is placed (carrier), packed (condenser), etc. Some doctors are really good at communicating what they want to a new assistant, but over time you will see that the doctor always uses the instruments in the same order for the procedure. This video is a “how to” video for passing different types of items, it doesn’t really follow any procedure sequence.
