I use a old fishing tackle box to carry queen cells . Put a hot water bottle in the bottom then put pine shavings on top of the bottle then put your queen cells down in the dog bed shavings . Just a idea I use 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️. As always thanks for all your information you share with all of us. THANKS

Thx again for taking the time to show us everything...it is most likely you will damage the Queen if you shake the cells....it looks like you have a lot cells.. thats great...as a suggestion you can put the cell between the top bars...using the plastic part or of the cell lightly separate two top bars and snug the plastic part between the bars...if you have to remove a frame so the plastic part of the cell is not squeezed or cerushed. You may already Know this....as.a suggestion wait At least 20 day's before checking for eggs. I can,t wait to see how it goes.. thx's again.

Great video. I hate how people have to always input on how other people choose to do things. If you like the outcome of what you are doing, keep on keeping on. Ignore the naysayers. God bless.

Nice 3 part Series on Queen Cell raising. 🤗 Memo... Remember BBM is in the Southern Hemisphere in AUS. (Opposite Bee season to UK, EU, USA etc...) You will need later Spring or Summer conditions to make your own Queens. AND you need Drones !!! 🐝🐝🐝🐝 Happy Queen Rearing👑

We are told that the virgin queen leaves the hive to mate but how do we really know if she leaves the hive to mate? And why would the drones congregate in some far off area when they are always trying to get in the hives to fill their bellies? I don't ever see my drones leave the yard.

If the honey flow finish how long after before you can pull honey
@patrickwalsh68733 жыл бұрын
You can certainly pull honey if the bees have capped over the cells, because that means they've taken the moisture content down. But even with cells that have not been capped over, if you do a 'shake test', (ie hold the frame on the flat over the hive and watch for droplets), and if nothing comes out, then you should be ok. I often do that on a frame that's eg 70-80% capped. A refractometer is useful too, to gauge the water content. They're not too expensive anymore.

Love you're channel! I just found you in May 2021,and practically binged all your videos. I don't actually have any experience with beekeeping. Besides binging alot of beekeepers all over the world, but mostly the USA. Anyway, just something I've seen on some others videos on this subject, they say to put a undrawn frame in with your cells, since the cells and the syrup gives them the means to make a surplus of wax? Like I said, full transparency, I haven't done this,but I see how hard it is to get nice drawn frames,so it seems a pity any comb goes to waste! Not technically waste,if your wife gets it to make holistic beauty products. Anywho, worth trying? Could be good, could be shit,right?!? Lol 👑🐝🍯🖤🐝👑💛🍯🐝🍯🍻👑
@TheBushBeeMan3 жыл бұрын
That would work and allow them to build out the comb for sure. Thank you so much for binging the show :)

Those are the oddest grafted queen cells I've ever seen. And a very high failure percentage. Maybe it's plastic cell cups. These almost look like they have been used before which for some reason bees tend to not like at all.
