Pastel colored primer is common. Helps the painter know its primer, and covers well with top coat.

Hi Mark. If you had taken the bare, original box and marked a vertical line up the mid-point of the long side of the box. set your power saw to a depth of, say, 6mm. lay the box on it's side and run a cut up the line. Do this both sides. You may need to make several cuts to make a "trench" wide enough to take the marine ply. Cut the marine ply to size and slide it down the trenches to make your divider.

I have a tip for ya. Dip your screws into grease or engine oil before trying to screw them in, it acts as a lubricant as it goes in and it will make your drill last twice as long, it also helps the screws last twice as long. Thanks for the videos

Primer used have red lead added to make it stick to the surface. We now have removed all lead from paints. Not sure why it's still pinkk other than due to a colouring agent added so it's easy to identfy as primer.

Hey Lads, having been mucking around in this space my self, that inner lid did you have any issues with ventilation / moisture? I've just added a 20mm hole x 2 in the middle of each of those two nucs at each end underneath the internal lid. I wacked on some SS across them on the outside to stop spiders and that is working well for me! Just a thought! Stay Safe!

One theory for the pink primer is the original mixture used lead, don't know the exact chemical ingredients of the brand you use but it could be colourant or a resin of some kind.

Here in the USA we girls going around in these black shirts with big white letters that says pink. And I'm no! That's clearly black and white. But maybe things are just not black and white if you're a girl. It's all pink. Idk, or I digress as you'd say.
