This is the most straightforward and comprehensive tutorial I've ever watched on coffered ceilings. Thank you so much for this. I also really appreciate you talking like a normal person and getting straight to the point. A lot of people put on a weird voice in their videos and it drives me nuts. And they love to talk about stuff that's not related to the video too. You're not like that and I truly appreciate it. 🥰✌️ Edited to add: yes, these are coffered ceilings and I believe the 45 degree angles meeting up is called a mitered joint. I know it's called a mitered joint when they meet up on a corner but not sure if it's called the same thing when they meet up horizontally or vertically, if that makes sense. 🤷🥰✌️

1st let me say WOWZERS it all turned out STUNNING! You are right it is a Coffered Ceiling as you were corrected by incorrect peeps! 🤣 Coffered means indentation and even a faux Coffered Ceiling with 1x4's is still an indented space. The more elaborate of course is getting technical with the use of crown moulding or ancient carved out of stone. They all should've done a wee bit of research before correcting you as good ole Mr. Bob Villa even shows how to do a Coffered Ceiling exactly like yours or extremely close to yours. Lol I can hear them chattering at him being wrong!! Ignore rude comments and keep doing the fantastic job you're doing!!! They're just jealous is all and some are just (in my Gma's famous saying in her exact words) Honey girl...Ignorance is Bliss and many many people live in Bliss-ville! 🤣 took me years to know what in the crap she meant but when it finally registered...my mind says it daily...Oh Ma you were soooo right!!! Lol hope you have a great day!!!

I absolutely LOVE the ceiling! Those are seriously my favorite style (next to beadboard and vaulted with exposed beams). I completely agree with adding the crown too, it really does just finish the entire look. 🤩 Beautiful work! 💪

Yes! Kitchens tend to feel small because they're full of cabinets and things!
