Thanks for explanning this! Is the trigger setup in power bi visual can only access the default environment? I which to export power bi data into dynamics 365 Dataverse using power automate add through power bi visual. But the environment seemed to be fixed to the default one, there's no place to change it.

Freda, can you provide a bit more detail about your scenario? Are you using a Power App with Power BI? What connectors / triggers are you using in Power Automate? How complex is the data you're trying to send to Data Verse? You're also welcome to stop by our Office Hours if you need more help, the next one is on Wednesday: www.bulb.digital/office-hours

Thanks for explaining it in detail. I am just curious to understand How this environment concept impact Power BI? I have not seen any options for environment in Power BI and its certainly a part of Power Platform.

Great question! At the moment, Power BI is more or less disconnected from the Power Platform environment architecture. PowerBI artifacts are deployed to Workspaces, which are NOT environments and are actually more closely tied to O365 Groups or Teams. For example, every O365 Group can have a PowerBI workspace where people in the group can access and manage reports. Power BI also has a licensing model that is a bit disconnected from the rest of the licensing in the Power Platform. In Power BI, you can have per user licensing, but you also have Premium Capacity licensing at an organizational level which can be applied to specific workspaces, giving you more ability to share reports with others and manage performance. If you're looking for advice on... "I'm creating PowerApps that use PowerBI reports, where should I put my reports?"... you could simply mirror your environments with Workspaces (DEV/TEST/PROD), since you can create stand alone PowerBI workspaces which can be licensed separately to support the needs of your application. This alignment is most useful when it comes to how you the components with your users.

Hi Laura, no problem, glad you found it helpful! I'm not sure where it is on the priority list, but I can make sure it's somewhere! Just know that we're talking internally about things like PPCOE and gathering our thoughts around who it helps, who it doesn't, and how to think about these types of resources in your organization. Hopefully will have something to share soon!

@@BulbDigital thank you. I have one more question - what kind of license do I need to install the coe toolkit?
@BulbDigital2 жыл бұрын
To install and administer the COE Toolkit you need a Power Apps Per User license (non-trial), Microsoft 365 license, Power Automate Per User or Per Flow license (non-trial). End users don't need an extra license unless you use specific features. Users who you want to share the Power BI reports with need to have a Power BI Pro license or premium capacity. It is also possible to install in a Dataverse for Teams environment which has less licensing requirements.
