Hi Katie! 🤗 Thank you so much for critiquing my paintings and for all the kind words you said. You really encouraged me to keep going, to keep creating and to keep sharing my work with the world. It is so great to hear that you see a style in my artwork! 🥰 I want to capture a mood and convey feelings in my paintings and I am glad that I managed to achieve that with this little sunset series. I love the advice you gave - I also like to see layers, texture and the marks paintbrushes leave in a thick paint. I did this series a while ago but in some of my most recent works I tried to be a bit bolder with the amount of paint I used. I think the layers, texture and brush marks really add an interest and personality to the painting 😊 And yes, I am indeed thinking of selling these painting 😉 Once again, thank you so much for your feedback ❤️

Thank you soo much for critiquing my work. I loved the advice you gave and I have actually experimented a lot more with color mixing especially since taking your course. My most recent paintings show that as well as tonal and value range. When I got a notification that you made a video critiquing artwork I was like “oh crap” I forgot to send Katie my work having completely forgotten that I sent you those paintings back in February. Thanks again and I will definitely take your advice. I’m actually enjoying incorporating color mixing and color theory and value studies in my work!!

This was great, thank you! I love your message at the end. To lean into your art work and not necessarily get to someone else's level. Your course has been amazing for me in so many ways. So happy I found you

Thank you so much for reviewing my work. You have really encouraged me, I really want to tell stories through my art. And you have noticed this. I will upload one I did in the last few days where I was on a camping retreat and the theme was, “nothing to hide and nothing to prove”, it was about getting rid of “showing off” and being real and genuine. I felt healed at the retreat and also peaceful. I was meditating on the words of Jesus as I did it, “when two or three are gathered in my name, there am I” and I wanted to show genuineness, calmness and synergy in the picture. I made the subjects lighter in colour to promote the synergy in the group. Almost that we all blend into the background and there is no need for us to prove anything to anyone… Thank you for encouraging me on this clip. It is a cloth on the tap and it is squash in the bottle. Thank you!

You're so welcome. Keep leaning into it. Storytelling is a gift not all of us have. Use it to your advantage. I'm excited for you!

These artists are amazing! I loved this video--seeing so many different styles and hearing about each person's growth as an artist. You give feedback in such a positive, loving, and helpful way--that's a gift in itself. Thank you, and thank you to all the artists for sharing! It was very inspiring.

would you be willing to look at my paintings? I've only been painting 3 years. I'd love to hear your thoughts on them. Dave Barber
