Do you think every product should have some kind of prop/scene created? I always struggle, especially if it’s not a set of items, just one, on deciding whether I should create a scene, or just shoot it with a nice background of choice (wood, marble, etc)

It's not always necessary. When I have no props in the scene, I still try and make the scene interesting like adding harsh shadows or spraying a can with water. Something to tell the story. Sometimes super simple goes a long way too.
