1. Get Organized -Organize your files -Remove/delete obsolete files -current lessons on the sidebar -make a format for easier access -masterlist: google docs (share with classmates) -assignment tracker -set your goals: keep it visible/buddy (Summit app) 2. Pay attention in class -take proper notes (write in your own words, summarize, add examples) 3. Study Tips -Invest more time up front -Short intense study sessions (short time but create your own study guides) -practice active recall -spaced repetition 4. Attention Management -stay focused, eliminate distraction (attention residue) -mute notification/distractions -hide your phone "the mere presence of your phone is actually distracting" -pomodoro technique -study environment (set boundaries) "don't study on your bed" 5. Group Work -choose groups carefully separate work and personal life -prep for meetings -be a proactive group member "be the person who makes the plan and gets things done" -set internal deadlines -split the work but take time to connect everything together -maintain boundaries (have a day to rest and not do school stuff)

I needed this! Started school again after graduating college over 10 years ago and a lot of things have changed to say the least lol 😅 I was paper through and through ages ago and struggled going digital last semester. Thanks for this video! The file organization bit was especially helpful.

I'm not in college, but I am about to go through flight attendant training and I haven't had to study anything since a menu test at a restaurant 💀 so some of these tips are absolutely going to help me survive this intense 5 week course! And as always I have to mention that your video quality is top notch with your editing. I always appreciate the added b-roll & ofc the music as well. That one section where the music abruptly stopped to add further emphasis to your point was so good! You always kill it with adding the small details with your editing. (One of the many reasons why you're one of my favs!)

man all of the tips in this video are spot on ESPECIALLY the part about group work. It's so true that nobody ever tells you about this stuff but expect you all to be 100% good at it anyways!! I only learned because I was more or less forced to become the group leader on multiple occasion. But anyways, although these have been stuff i have been doing already, just seeing them being put into words and explained properly is amazing and validating! thank you for this video ✨✨

Loved this video! I'm currently doing my masters at Uni and the amount of people asking questions that should be common knowledge by now is insane! What amazing advice! Looking back on when I was in uni, I always struggled with the speed in which my professors moved through each slide. I tried to sum them up in my own words, but sometimes they would go too fast for me to even process! Wondering if anyone else relates to this! Thank you for your videos 😀

my professors vary so much! I've had some that talk VERY fast, and some that talk VERY slow (and honestly don't have that much material anyways haha) but yeah I've totally had the experience of finding it hard to keep up

I really resonate with the entasis and deliberation you put into attention. If you have Apple devices, you should consider using the shortcuts application, so that every time you start a 'deep focus' session, it blocks automatically the notifications, it puts a timer you would like to do, it creates an event of that period of time, so that you can keep track visually of your deep work distribution and more. I personally use it for more things, such as every time I start the focus session, my lamp changes to a colour I specified for this type of period, and then when I activate 'Neural recovery' it as well changes.
@TheBlissBean9 ай бұрын
wowwww that's such a cool idea! I love the idea of automatically blocking notifications bc when I manually turn it on then sometimes I forget to turn it off during my break

Group work, I have trouble with group work, especially when it comes to choosing the people I work with (my friends). I recently realized that we don't work well together and usually just talk, but the thing is (I'm still in high school), all of my classmates have divided themselves into friends, and friends work with friends, so my question is what do we do then???

Hi! Do you have any tips on how to make a study guide?
@TheBlissBean9 ай бұрын
Hmm it's great, of course, when the professor gives you a clear list of topics, but if not that, then I would probably try to write like a question or a few for every sub-heading that I have in my notes, every small topic
@rosanah.90899 ай бұрын
do you have any tips for writing essays? im also studying communications and im just going to start my third semester, its what ive struggled the most with, not procrastinating 3,000 word essays and improving my writing, also analysing the readings, i do the homework but then i dont really know how to participate in class
@TheBlissBean8 ай бұрын
Ooh that's a very good question. I mean, first of all with participating in class, I'm not sure I have any specific method. I just answer the professor's questions sometimes, and also if I'm engaged in class and did the readings then I find that I naturally think of other points to bring up and add to the discussion And as with essays, it'd be interesting to do a video on that as well. The one thing I would say is that I NEVER just start writing in a blank doc. It always starts as a big bullet point list of random ideas and snippets from what we read and learned. Then I start to make connections and build an argument. Organize things into an outline... the actual writing only happens at the very end to glue everything together
