Another great video...with special "lounging guest" Toby!!! Side note, I am a instructor with the American Red Cross and I recommend everyone take a First Aid, CPR, and AED training course. Needless to say I will be a bit biased when I say to take training from the Red Cross. If you do a lot of hiking and camping and remote camping like Kenny does, I recommend that you take the Wilderness First Aid course as well. It covers more information on Heat-Related Emergencies, Hypothermia, Altitude-Related Illnesses, Allergies and Anaphylaxis, Burns, Bone and Joint Injuries, Wounds and Wound Infection, and splinting. I won't go into a whole lot of details as there are a ton of different types of first aid kits out there but yes, make sure you have a tourniquet like the C.A.T. and learn how to use it properly. I would also say include Narcan nasal spray in your kits, a prescription is no longer required and I saw it on the shelf in Walgreens the other day. While telling your friends and family where you are going or at, another good idea is if you like to go really, really, really remote, bring an emergency locator beacon with you. It could be your last resort for help. Yes, they can be pricy but if you are up a certain creek without a paddle, it will be worth it.

Kenny........awesome video! THANK YOU for showing your First Aid Kit. You are set! The stop bleed and tourniquet are two items that everyone needs. I carry a couple of tourniquets in my truck's glove box that I use to have in my patrol car. You never know when you'll come across a serious car accident where the tourniquet could keep someone from bleeding out. I also carry level 5 cut resistant gloves, nitrile gloves and my safety hammer window breaker/seatbelt cutter tool from the old days. Does your Modified Sine Wave inverter cause any electrical problems for your electronics vs a Pure Sine Wave inverter? Really enjoyed the trip down memory lane, especially enjoyed seeing Toby's face.............he is so sweet looking!
@KennyOfAllTrades7 ай бұрын
Thanks! I have run e everything on the modified sine wave for years without an issue, including my laptop. With that said, I have found some power stations will not charge. I think the higher end models have a smart charing technology. My small power stations are no problem. The Allpowers has tons of safety built in. It sees the modified sine wave and won't accept it.

One thing I would suggest in your first aide kit is something called “after bite” I’ve worked outside most of my life and these swabs really help with bee/wasp stings. And being Toby will be with you a dog first aide kit would be good to have too, plus you should carry benedryl tablets for him as well. Your Vet can tell you the dosage but I keep that on hand at home for my dogs as well.

Condensation comment. My wife and I work camped at Grand Canyon one winter in a 35' motorhome. The 2 propane furnaces kept things pretty dry to the poing my wife added a humidifier. The way the RV is made, they use one of the aluminum 'studs to run electric wires from below to the overhead. Well the other studs are filled with foam for insulation, but the wore one is hollow, The metal conducts the cold. At 30 below it was very cold, and the humidifier condensed moisture, but it froze. We had a floor to ceiling icicle!

Wow! I could see how that could happen. The joys of RV'ing in the winter! Thanks for the comment.

That's my boy Stanley. Last year, I had a neighbors barn cat show up and have kittens behind my garage. Moma went back home when the kittens were on their own. Two of them stuck around. We have Stanley and Anglea outside. They live in the garage. They both are little lovers, but Stanley likes to cuddle more the Angela. They have been in the house a few times, but they prefer to live outside. I had a cat dropped off at the end of my driveway last fall. His name is Morty. He was 100% house cat, so he lives inside. Oddly enough, the 3 don't get along, so Morty doesn't get to chase the mice like Stanley and Angela. Toby gets along with Morty and Stanly. They dont pay much attention to each other. Angela doesn't have any time for Toby.

@@KennyOfAllTrades awe, I love cats. I have 4 of my own that I raised from early kitten hood. 2 of them were born outside and found and the other two were born during a time I was fostering their pregnant moms so I watched them come into this world. Thanks for the reply!! Have a good one.
