Kenny - your videos inspired me and my husband to get our first camper trailer, and we're taking our first camping trip this week. We are so excited. Enjoy your videos so much and your simplicity keeping it real. Of all the van lifers out on KZbin these days, we always find yours the most enjoyable.

You have a rare commodity here. You engage your audience while others talk to us. You're the best sir. Loved the video and I can wait for a maintenance video. Have you ever thought about doing a video on just the "bloopers" from your travels? Think it would be great. Thanks again.

Evening! So look forward to your videos! Thank you, I know its a lot of work!a suggestion for your 1aid kit is liquid benadryl. Now that you are traveling w Toby, its good to have on hand in case he gets bitten. Also good for humans. It absorbs into the body quickly because its liquid. I travel w dogs and also carry charcoal tablets - just in case. Wishing you an amazing week and can’t wait for next Tuesday!

Another great video...with special "lounging guest" Toby!!! Side note, I am a instructor with the American Red Cross and I recommend everyone take a First Aid, CPR, and AED training course. Needless to say I will be a bit biased when I say to take training from the Red Cross. If you do a lot of hiking and camping and remote camping like Kenny does, I recommend that you take the Wilderness First Aid course as well. It covers more information on Heat-Related Emergencies, Hypothermia, Altitude-Related Illnesses, Allergies and Anaphylaxis, Burns, Bone and Joint Injuries, Wounds and Wound Infection, and splinting. I won't go into a whole lot of details as there are a ton of different types of first aid kits out there but yes, make sure you have a tourniquet like the C.A.T. and learn how to use it properly. I would also say include Narcan nasal spray in your kits, a prescription is no longer required and I saw it on the shelf in Walgreens the other day. While telling your friends and family where you are going or at, another good idea is if you like to go really, really, really remote, bring an emergency locator beacon with you. It could be your last resort for help. Yes, they can be pricy but if you are up a certain creek without a paddle, it will be worth it.

Kenny........awesome video! THANK YOU for showing your First Aid Kit. You are set! The stop bleed and tourniquet are two items that everyone needs. I carry a couple of tourniquets in my truck's glove box that I use to have in my patrol car. You never know when you'll come across a serious car accident where the tourniquet could keep someone from bleeding out. I also carry level 5 cut resistant gloves, nitrile gloves and my safety hammer window breaker/seatbelt cutter tool from the old days. Does your Modified Sine Wave inverter cause any electrical problems for your electronics vs a Pure Sine Wave inverter? Really enjoyed the trip down memory lane, especially enjoyed seeing Toby's face.............he is so sweet looking!
@KennyOfAllTrades
@KennyOfAllTrades 4 ай бұрын
Thanks! I have run e everything on the modified sine wave for years without an issue, including my laptop. With that said, I have found some power stations will not charge. I think the higher end models have a smart charing technology. My small power stations are no problem. The Allpowers has tons of safety built in. It sees the modified sine wave and won't accept it.

Geez your camper brochure estimates a 50 watt solar panel to be 22lb n a 100 watt to be 32lb a 10lb diff. My guess u have a 50 watt panel. I remember 100 watt panels back then were big! Bought a 50 watt panel back in 2007-8, it was 15x35 inches. (And it was also 3-4yrs after yours) My point, panel size shrunk over the years or basically double in watts for same size. Does your panel look like 32lbs! Yeah i say no. And that option i'm sure wasn't cheap either back then probably double the cost for a 100 watt. 🍻
@KennyOfAllTrades
@KennyOfAllTrades 4 ай бұрын
Thank you for finding that! It's cool to see how far technology has come in the last few years. Now that I know how much the panel weighs I should probably take it off and replace it with a 100 watt unit. That is a lot of extra weight on the highest point of the camper.

Enjoyed the video, glad to see Toby! I’m glad you have a good first aide kit with you, also glad to know I’m not the only one who gets banged up and cut! One thing I would suggest in your first aide kit is something called “after bite” I’ve worked outside most of my life and these swabs really help with bee/wasp stings. And being Toby will be with you a dog first aide kit would be good to have too, plus you should carry benedryl tablets for him as well. Your Vet can tell you the dosage but I keep that on hand at home for my dogs as well.

Funny how you can easy obtain narcam for the herione addiction and given out for either free or low cost to bring one back but it costs more to bring back someone from having a life or death anaphylaxis shock then self destruction doesn't compute to me. Being a natural born dyslexic human i just can't understand how freaking backwards this fact is. Mind blowing. It should cost more to bring back someone from self destruction because that cost is an expensive repetition.

Yes. Using an automatic transfer switch would take care of that. I was going to do that initially. The transfer switch at Menard for a generator was 300 bucks. I can't afford that. I agree there could be issues. That is why I didn't get into specifics. I don't want anyone to screw their stuff up.

Awesome Setup, I love your camper, great job on all the power. Love the flashbacks I should do that on my videos. I just spent 5 grand on solar panels, controller, inverter and batteries for my camper the expense hurt bad but I am really loving it. I know how it is I have two red bone hound dogs that have past on a lot of my early videos, LOL yea your face and Lip was HUGE. I was a Flight nurse in the Air Force, spent 10 years on Rockingham Augusta Search and Rescue as an EMT here in the George Washington National Forest and 30 years in Law Enforcement you would be surprised how many people ill-prepared in all aspects of life not just camping and outdoor adventures. I switched to lithium and haven’t looked back. All you need to do is snip the wire in the control panel that does your charging for the house batteries (usually yellow). Pick up a lithium 110v battery charger and a dc dc charger and you are good to go. 👍👍

For sure. One day, I'm gonna make the switch. I'm sure I won't regret it and wonder why I didn't do it sooner. No doubt lithium is superior.

I added a second transfer switch so I would never find out what happens when shore power meets inverter power. Road trip time!

Kenny if you were financially able would you buy the 2024 truck camper? If so...what would you think you would like to buy? I actually love camping however if I had the means I would buy a Cirrus or a big boy of Host Mammoth. Definitely 4 season.
@KennyOfAllTrades
@KennyOfAllTrades 4 ай бұрын
Both of those would be great! The Cirrus would fit my need better. I think they have made some nice upgrades in the past few years. I would be really tempted to pick a camper without a slide. I'm solo 90% of the time, so I don't Necessarily need a slide.The slide comes in handy for the extra room, If Mandi was coming out with me every week I would stick with a slide unit. If I could buy a new camper.I would seriously consider a Northern Light because of the four season construction and light weight. If I was going to be purchasing a standard hardsided camper I would make sure it had Azdel instead of Filon. I don't have a specific brand that I prefer. Lance, Cirrus, Host, Arctic Fox, all make great campers. I would definitely be walking through every brand. The camper I would choose would come down to the little details. If I had the money or was gifted any camper I would start looking at the 2017 models and up. 2017, 2018, and 2019 were all great years for construction quality. That's just my opinion though.

That's my boy Stanley. Last year, I had a neighbors barn cat show up and have kittens behind my garage. Moma went back home when the kittens were on their own. Two of them stuck around. We have Stanley and Anglea outside. They live in the garage. They both are little lovers, but Stanley likes to cuddle more the Angela. They have been in the house a few times, but they prefer to live outside. I had a cat dropped off at the end of my driveway last fall. His name is Morty. He was 100% house cat, so he lives inside. Oddly enough, the 3 don't get along, so Morty doesn't get to chase the mice like Stanley and Angela. Toby gets along with Morty and Stanly. They dont pay much attention to each other. Angela doesn't have any time for Toby.

@@KennyOfAllTrades awe, I love cats. I have 4 of my own that I raised from early kitten hood. 2 of them were born outside and found and the other two were born during a time I was fostering their pregnant moms so I watched them come into this world. Thanks for the reply!! Have a good one.
