I don’t know, this seems very much like an afterthought, especially in implementation. The fragility of swapping out the laser modules seems unnecessarily tedious. They could have easily made a spring loaded clamp bracket for both laser heads and a dual control board. At least they could’ve made the screws magnetic so you don’t keep dropping them. I love wecreat, but this just doesn’t seem up to their own innovative benchmarks.

I just received my vision this week, a great machine so far but honestly, that swap-out is an easy way to damage one of those cables. I also have the x-tool f1 which is fully enclosed and has both lasers 10w diode and 2w IR and supper fast. it also has an automatic feed. Thank you so much for the video review.

If you can afford multiple laser engravers, that's of course the easiest way to go. One designated laser for wood/diode, one for IR/metal, one for rotary projects. But most people don't have the money or space. I like my LaserPecker4 because it goes back and forth with the push of a button. But it's also smaller and not enclosed. They all have their pros and cons. To be able to pay $350 to transform their pre-existing WeCreat into an IR laser is pretty cool IMO. I wish the swap out was simpler. But it is only 6 screws and popping a ribbon cable in. Just gotta be careful.

@@Cricuter I think it’s cool that they came out with that. You’re 100% about the space and affordability for some. I was looking at it from post I see on Facebook from others who own the vision. I think the none tech savvy owners who have trouble installing the laser head and possibly damaging the cables.

I have the 20W and just installed the 2W thanks to your help. Can I still engrave tumblers with the 2W or do I need to swap back to the 20?

I think you can but it takes like 5 hours. I haven't tried it yet though.

Got it … was not easy to swap. Screws was so tight had to drill one out. Also plug in connector was glued in . Had to scrap all the glue off to get apart.

Fantastic video. I wish all installation videos of (well, anything) were this thought out and helpful. I am really considering getting this, though I might wait a little while and see if they will come out with a combo diode/infrared module so it doesn’t have to be swapped out every time you want to go back and forth. 🤞

With no air assist, is there a issue with debris in the cutting field? With the IR can you still engrave and cut wood, engrave mugs etc?

There's no debris or smoke when engraving metal so no need for air assist. You have to switch back to Diode for wood

I do have a LaserPecker 4 and the 2w isn't used enough to purchase it separately. I could give it a thought is Wecreat would ship other items that was ordered. Wecreat feel like a Kickstart campaign all over again.

I just used my LaserPecker 4 2w yesterday to laser engrave a t-ball and spoon for Father's Day. It's great for curved surfaces because of the way the laser head moves, and so fast. Since I have these 2 machines, it's a lot easier for me to use my LaserPecker 4 for the IR laser since it swaps with the push of a button. I think WeCreat's issue is that they announce new products too early with pre-orders but then their followers get upset that it takes forever for them to get it. They should wait until they have the inventory to ship things right away. I get wanting to generate excitement, but I feel like it ultimately leads to disappointment more than anything when people have to wait.

You could have used the capture function ln the Wecreat software to get the writing also, saving you a couple of steps!

Thank you! I know you can with the Diode laser, I'm not sure about the Infrared. My understanding is that infrared is mostly for metals. I'll test it out and get back to you!

It really is not that hard! I promise! I get most of my blanks from Amazon or Temu. Temu has pretty much the same things as Amazon but for half the price, but shipping takes longer because it comes from China. temu.to/m/u3jo6wf2o3y

Great video! Engraving looks easy, but will this thing 'cut' metal at all? Wondering if you could round the corners on those coaster? either way, this looks easier than trying to figure out all the sprays and coatings. I do hate the thought of swapping back and forth. Besides metal, will this engrave slate or wood? Or do you have to swap back?

It can't cut metal, only engrave. You do have to swap back and forth for wood, but it's really not that hard. It's 6 screws and a ribbon cable. It takes me 5 minutes.

Too bad they don’t offer a complete bundle with this and also the conveyor. If you buy the conveyor bundle, you have to buy this separately. Wecreat is on my wish list, but I want both the conveyor and the ir! 🤓 Thanks for your detailed video!

I bet they'll make a bundle soon! Both are such new accessories. They have a pretty good deal right now with the IR laser, the rotary and some wood for $1899.99 but you would have to get the conveyor separately. shrsl.com/4hu09

Also xTool has the F1 that has a 10w diode and a 2w infrared. Also the xTool S1 has a 20w and 40w and a Infrared laser head you can switch out.
