Hi Colin. Thanks for the idea and inspiration. I think I might build one of these. I already have a shop stool (online purchase) but I get visitors to my shop and it would be nice to have a second. Also, I keep a one-step stool in the shop to reach the blast gates of the split of my two-zone dust collection system. It's just below ceiling level. If I build the stool as you did, I can eliminate the low stool. Thanks for the content over the years. Be safe in the shop!

This is a great idea, I have a separate stool and small step ladders for some high shelfing - wish I had thought of this!

Maybe you could fit a clip to lock the seat in the up position to act as a sort of hand hold.

Great build! I think the dowel holes were a tiny bit too big. I do mine with a smaller drill bit so they have to be hammered in.

The dowels he uses for the test fit are undersized, and have been sanded down for ease of use. They are not the same as the dowels he used for final assembly (not shown in video). He mentions that briefly here, but has talked about it at length in other videos.

Hey nice! And nice to see you add your lovely wife! :) Can you tell us what you used for the padding for the stool top ? Also, was it covered with leather or vinyl?
@knecht105
@knecht105 11 ай бұрын
The padding is just a firm foam that is used for lounge chairs and the top is only vinyl, It's a workshop stool so I wanted a fabric that would be easy to clean ... you know, in case I want to eat a burger in the shop from the Crow & Gate
